I made these two posts in “Testers Only” but they may be more appropriate here.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just logged in to Test to start progression for my crafter. Went to the Crafting Trainer to buy books. He does not have them! Where are they?

My wife says there is an in-game quest but how am I supposed to know this? Please arrange for a letter to be sent to crafters indicating that there is a quest and where to find the quest. (We get letters send us to send us to New Halas at level 10 and Bucherblock at level 20)

It seems they are quest rewards.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Really? Yes - Really. At level 90 the game mechanics have completely changed. Why? The first book is easy enough, but I can't see how to get the level 91 Essentials. It look as though I have to go more than half way across a zone full of high level agro mobs. There may be a safe path but it's not obvious. Some of the mobs seem to have a big aggro radius. One of the great features of EQ2 was that you could be a level 4 adventurer and a level 90 crafter, now it looks as though you need to be a level 90 Adventurer to be a level 92 Crafter.

And what has happened to the level 90 Crafting Books? In the past when a new tier hit the level 89 books were split for scholars everyone else had new books. Why the change? As I can't level up at the moment I can scribe the books so I'm not commenting on that yet.

Is it worth crafting? The first quest I picked up offered level 90 kit comparable with Ry'Gor armour. Is there going to be level 92 M/C and is it going to be worth having? For 0 levels?

------

Hem, it seems I <span style="font-family: "Verdana","sans-serif";">can scribe level 91 Essentials and Advanced Books at level 90. Another interesting change. Or is it just a short term fix until we can level up.

Even if not at present. Anyway Crafters are not dependent on the level of the mobs there is no reason why they should not progress normally. Of course that would mean there were higher level Crafters than adventurers until tier 11 happens, which will be either NEVER!...... or Thursday next.

(This would be a bit tough for Scholars, but all the other classes should be all right. Indeed Alchemists and Jewelers could be accommodated with potions and jewelery, so that only leaves the sages. Further we even know what they will be able to make, and when they will make it so they could progess through to 100. Just most of the items they could make will be of no use until the next expansion but one when adventurers will be able to progress to level 97.)
