Returning player, question about F2P locked Chars

<p>I was with EQ2 since the start, and had picked up a majority of the expansions prior to their F2P change.  Since they opened up F2P on all servers, I thought I'd give it a try and play one of my alts.  It seems that I have my 4 unlocked chars due to my silver account, but 3-4 are locked do to that restriction.  Sadly the character I want to play is one of the locked characters. </p><p>What options do I have for unlocking that specific character?  It doesn't seem like I had a choice of which were locked or not (big shame, CoH allowed you to choose), and I'm not sure the wording on the buying an "additional character slot" would actually unlock them, or if it would allow me to choose which of the 4 currently locked chars got unlocked.</p>

<p>As far as I know, you would have to buy additional slots to open up the characters & they would unlock in the order of last ones logged on (as in the last one you logged on is unlocked first and so on until you get to the one you haven't played in the longest time). You do not get to choose (which I agree is a shame).</p>

<p>I guess then, I could become gold for a month,  make sure before it expired I have the 4 I wanted to keep unlocked as the most recently played, and let the account expire.</p><p>I'm not looking for ways to stick it to sony, I have to give them credit, their F2P model seems by far the best out of the AAA MMOs, so much so older "grandfathered" players seem to get too much for free =) </p><p>If the list is sorted as I think it is, to unlock my char i'll need 2 unlocks, and really, to unlock them forever on the F2P account, it's probably worth that.</p>

<p>Well it'd only be $20 for 2 unlocks (less if you get the SC cards with the bonus cash on them or buy the SC when there is a double/triple SC event). So not really much more than a month's sub.</p>
