Obviously I've not seen all there is to see since this just went to test today, but my first impressions as someone who primarily crafts and decorates are not good.

I couldn't wait to go do the crafting quests and see what the new carpenter recipes were. Imagine my suprise when my first book is filled with Draconic Vase versions 1 - 5, my 2nd book is filled with Draconic Vase versions 6 -10, my advanced book has Draconic Vase SET versions 1-4 and Draconic Table and Vase Set version 1-3. I love house items and I can find a use for nearly anything, but this is the same 4 or 5 items over and over and over and over just arranged ever so slightly different.

What was the point of this thread if there's not a single item from what crafters/decorators wanted in the (so far) 4 new quests for books I've been given? No windows, curtains, triangles, pre-built stairs, squares of carpet or any of the other dozens of requests that got multiple requests?

I was annoyed when AoD came out because carpenters made earrings. I was annoyed when tradeskill apprentices which were made out to be so cool at Fan Faire ended up recycled versions of the spell researchers that had been done away with for spell researching. I was annoyed that there were no tradeskill quest lines in AoD.

And now we get versions 1-10 of the same vases? And none of the stuff from the requested list of items in the giant 16 page thread?

Please tell me there are faction recipes or recipes from quests that I've not found yet that include some of those items. Please tell me if I must be getting multiple versions of things that I'm about to stumble upon a book of Wood-framed windows version 1-10 or a book with sumac triangle, elm triangle, redwood triangle, adamantine triangle, etc. Multiple versions of those kinds of things I wouldn't mind a bit.

There isn't much else to add to this as I agree with Senya 100%.

There are many of us who enjoy crafting and decorating ONLY, as I'm sure you know by now, so this is yet another jab to the gut. While I am sooo happy we have building blocks (thankyouthankyou), leveling and questing in the new zone for the same items tweaked ever so slightly is highly disheartening.

Can we get some feedback as to what we'll be getting in regards to CARPENTRY apprentices? Or if we've not seen everything you plan to do regarding housing items, could you please give us some hope? lol

~Aleksa~

(I can't seem to find out how to change my persona. Grrr)

I hope I say this right, because housing and decorating is a big part of my game. My carpenter is my most beloved character...

We just got 99 recipes yesterday...!!! What other class gets that?! It may make gu 63 seem underwhelming for carpenters, but as a whole, I'm not sure we can be sad. I imagine a lot of ts dev time meant for gh 63 was spent on our blocks and it should still be counted even if we got them early!

And remember, it's only two levels, we've never had only two levels released. I imagine if we took a few of our levels in a vacum, it could easily be called into question as well.

I am greedy, I will take as much as they will give me and hope for more, but I don't find myself too disappointed here.

Well.. except that the block, rail and low divider models were all created and sold on the marketplace to make sony cash long before it ever appeared in your recipe book.

So they didn't do anything for the tradeskiller other than port them into your recipe book, which is probably even easier than it sounds, as the recipes are a big spreadsheet.

The big problem is that it's slight variations of the same vase(s) and table over and over and over and over and over... If variations of items was easier and faster why not triangles or doors or windows or carpet squares? Those are all things I imagine most of us would have been thrilled to have lots of variations of.

There's not saying we still won't get the things from that list, I sure hope so, I want triangles, I just assumed they wanted some themed furniture specifically related to this release? Could be wrong though!

No one is saying we aren't appreciative of the building blocks being available to us. They gave us something we wanted. However, after what happened with AoD and carpenters I think many of us were expecting something decent for GU63. From what I see so far, the new recipes aren't decent - they're highly disappointing.

We gave tons of feedback, in-game examples of zone objects that we'd like, etc etc, and none of that was taken into account it seems. From what I've seen so far of T10 recipes they're highly uninteresting and the T9 ones were far superior.

The big problem is that it's slight variations of the same vase(s) and table over and over and over and over and over...

That is almost depressing.

Are you really surprised carp's got hosed? They replaced us with the marketplace a long time ago.

I haven't the books yet but I went to have a look at those places in Heroes of Test guild hall (Gorowyn, Test) and I see the problem.

No, those items are not ugly or anything, but they're bland and, well, why would we need ons of vases and stuff in slight variations like that? You gave us a thread so we could say what we wanted. I'm not even sure a single person spoke of vases there we definatedly didn't want purple, blue, yellow, red, greyish versions of the same bland stuff

I am highly disappointed. We had great house items in Velious one year ago and since then we got nothing new except building blocks which are great for building stuff but not really for actual decorating.

I'm really really really disappointed.

I don't usually jump on test but when i seen people were protesting the "look" of the new house items i could see why. I'm sure there was a lot more things you could have chosen to turn into house items from that new area but why the same things over and over? I think that's really rather redundant. I did see a couple new items that i could possible use for something but why the same vase styles and tables for that matter? Couldn't there be more unique look to the items? I guess that i was asking for a bit much when i was hoping our house items wouldnt' be relagated to the forgotten bin. After the big release of the building blocks why the lackluster response with these new house items? I mean i would think being that they are new and its a new area that they would be amazing and something that we could look forward to using in our many decorated homes. I love to decorate its about all i do here these days and i honestly feel a little let down to the follow up of our building blocks. But i guess you guys spent so much time on the blocks that the hope of better house items for the new 91 and 92 level stuff wasn't going to be all that great. I suspect that must have been the case but hopefully by the time this goes live there will be more items in the works. As a hardcore decorator i certainly hope that is the case in the very least. Otherwise i suspect most of the ideas in the idea thread will be implemented into Station cash ONLY items. Seems the carpenter/decorator world in this game is all going there instead of in the hands of the people that already pay you 15 dollars a month to the game. Hopefully there will be new and exciting things to look forward to in the future aside from what i saw on test.

I just have one teeny tiny little question: please please please, can you just tell us if it will be more unique items rather than repeats?

Thanks to the op for this thread. I too was a bit disapointed when I saw the items. The strange thing is if wehad gotten say triangle tile in all our tiers, and say curtains in a variety of colors, and some carpet squares wewould have probably been thrilled and those items are very easy to produce. What I have seen so far lookslike the stuff we got in DOV in that they just picked some items they produced for the expansion varied somea bit and pushed it out as recipes.

I hope we are also going to see some more furniture. We have not really had any nice pieces since SF. I have a housewith all the things the carpenter can make in it divided by tier and after SF there was a real change in direction. I dowant to note a thank you to our new tradeskill dev for jumping in and giving us some hope.
