View Full Version : Illusionist pets root

Can we add an option to disable pet roots or in the mean time just disable it? Illusionist pet's can actually cause wipes on harder mobs (please see almost any mob in EoW/EoW HM) because the tank has to move and the mob decides not to. This is a really simpe fix and would be very appreciated by the illy population.

Learn to control your pet. ie. don't send it in until it's ok to root the mob, not at all if the mob shouldn't be rooted.

The root shouldn't work on Epic targets and that certainly should be changed, no other roots work on Epic targets that i can remember right now.

By taking both advice, you CAN NOT use your illy pet in EoW since there are constants moves involved in almost every fight. For the mob to stay rooted means he will hit the closest person which can be anyone when running away. I use EoW as an example because it is like this for almost every named. ToT when the last mob ports, roots can and do hit it and she will smack the heck out of a scout standing closer than the tank.I am asking for an option to disable the root. /pet no root and he doesnt cast root. Simple, easy and allows illys the use of the other 50% of their myth buff, since at this time, if you are using it in EoW, you are hurting your group more than helping.

In EoW rooting one of the mob when it splits is a common strat, normaly have the Illy do this if there is one in the group.

Uh, yeah, please tell me what this has to do with the pet? If you were to sick your pet in too, it would start casting other spells with root and would break both of yours wiping the group. Would be nice to leave your pet on the main mob with the group like a conjy or necro can do, but again, it would A. Die to AEs, or B. Root the mob and wipe the group.

Frankly the Illy pet is such a small piece of the puzzle that it's irrelevant.

You don't need your pet in EoW. Your group doesn't need your pet in EoW.

It's no different than any other ability a given class has. In certain circumstances, there are abilities which when used are detrimental to the success chances of the group. In this case, the pet is detrimental, so you don't use it.

Are there more things that need to be fixed with this class? Without a doubt. But this is a simple fix. Give Illys the /pet no root /pet root option and then in the herioc instances where he actually survives, at least we can use him.
