<p>Bristlebane Day 2012 has been activated on Test and Test Copy!Jesters, thieves, bards and fans of mischief are invited to enjoy the adventuring and new crafting festivities that surround Bristlebane Day! You never know what riddles, laughs and pranks are to be found during this enjoyable time of year. Celebrators are present in every home city, and the oddest of objects have been spotted in Antonica, The Commonlands, Darklight Wood, Timorous Deep, Greater Faydark and Frostfang Sea! Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for special events, especially in Enchanted Lands, occurring only on the highest of silly days, 4/1/2012!New features for '12!</p><ul><li>New contest – “Bristlebane Day Snack Snatcher: Enchanted Lands”</li><li>New Tradeskill recipe book, “Perfectly Serious Items to Craft III". I sure hope translators will give the right text to storms but I derail (the brew day race on Storms is using frostfell translation and "thirsty goblins" are called "snowball" *sight*).Some tasty stuff are floating (no problem there) but some are spawning below ground and we only see the particles floating above the earth and not the actual item. Locs with broken stuff are:</span></p><ul><li>16.18, 0.62, -31.42</li><li>-58.55, -3.30, -9.88</li><li>-17.11, -0.07, -55.46</li><li>0.73, -2.35, -44.99</li><li>-31.46, 2.4, -29.07</li><li>Spawn point in the water: around -47.93, -4.80, 3.91</li></ul><p>Could we get a list of the tresholds pretty please?</p><p>It seems the cabbages are spawning before the other type of stuffs when the race starts.</p><p>When in auto-consume, the Merriment Julep is consumed twice when equiped (if slot was empty).</p><p>Why is the flagon of chuckles no-trade?</p><p>For those interested, title is: Snack Snatcher! *snatches Kaitheel's snack*</p><p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>House items : </strong></span></p><p>Crafting part seems to work fine.</p><p>The fireworks from the race is pure genius. I love it <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" /></p><p>Garland is frostfellish but it's not surprising.</p><p>The ladder is nice but... Could it be possible to add the climb option to it? Pretty please?</p><p>Everything else seems fine to me. I haven't tried the quest from Blat in new freeport yet (all chars have done the quests already, I'll have to check if some lowbie on hubby account has not done it yet).</p><p>All house items can be seen in my Opera house, medium houses (and probably back in Hall of Fame in a couple of days), named "Bristlebane Day 2012" under Leucosia (South Qeynos)</p>

<p>The treasure chest doesn't scale very large. I am a really small toon and I thought it was too small at the foot of my bed hehe I can't imagine what a large toon in a big prestige house will think.</p>

<p>Something that I did /bug the other day, but I thought I'd go ahead and mention it:</p><p>I ran the race in Enchanted Lands on my level 25 Assassin. I had her merc active when I stepped on the pad. While I was running the race nothing was aggro to be but my merc started attacking something. The mount for the race vanished and I was running at normal unmounted speed until the merc died to the very red mob. I finished the race after the mount returned and I did not re-summon my Merc until I had run the race a few times again. Whatever he was fighting did not attack me. I'm just thinking that he's not supposed to do that. In case it matters it was the inq.</p>

Maybe these contests should auto-suspend mercenaries if aggro can't be avoided on them.</p>

I decided to test again this time I purposely summoned my merc and then ran the race. I wanted to test whether this was a fluke or not. With about 30 seconds left my mount vanishes. I target my merc to see that he is again fighting something. I agree with Cyliena either auto suspending them or maybe not allow you to step on the portal unless they are suspended? I know it asks you to dismount. Would asking to please suspend your merc be out of the question?</p>

<p>Minor typo in recipe name from Perfectly Serious Items to Craft III</p><p>Patterened Blue Pillow (extra E in there) ... item made, and the other pillow and recipe are fine, it is just the recipe name for the blue one.</p>

Coud it be made heirloom perhaps, so people can stock them on a single alt if they so wish?</p><p>On the topic of the ladder. It cannot be climbed, ok. Could it be possible to tip it to a 71° angle instead? From what I gathered, it's the maximum angle at which somebody can walk up an item. That way we could use the ladder as a ramp up.</p><p>Other question: what is the cloak supposed to look like? On a mannequin it's white on white, when I wear it it's gold on green, it seems brewdayish to me.</p>

<p>I ran the race 5 times yesterday on an alt with no issues. </p><p>Today, when I fired up Niami so she could earn the title, on the first race there was nothing visible at the start of the timer. At about 2 seconds in, the cabbages appeared, followed a second or two later by the apples and everything else.</p><p>The same thing happened on the second race, but, if anything, it took even longer for something to appear. I'm wondering if you may need to preload the visibility before the timer starts, like is done in the other races.</p><p>(I can't blame it on zone load, as there was only 1 other person in the entire zone at the time and he/she was intent on killing an npc at the docks over and over and over and over again.)</p>

If people grabbed it before, it may be gone when you start...</p>

For the second run, I'd left a bunch right near the start intentionally, to see if that would make a difference. She still started out with nothing as far as the eye could see when the timer started, then the cabbages slowly became visible, then the rest. It was that way for all 5 runs, too. The only thing I got in the first few seconds of each race was gassy cabbage. {burps then blushes}</p>
I've been seeing that too, Niami. Every run I've done so far the items haven't appeared until the race timer starts. The 10 second or so advance pop on the brewday one is much better as you can work out which way to go when the whistle blows.

<p>1. I broke the race rather easily. I was running around on my horse and rather instinctively thought (because I'm on the ground) I'd go faster with a speed buff.</p><p>I hit my key for the fury Pact of the Cheetah. This dropped the mount, and all the race objects disappeared from sight. The race timer was still going though. I removed the speed buff, but nothing came back. In fact it happens if you cast any kind of ability this happens, like casting a healing spell.</p><p>There are even a couple of fury ones (Serenity/Natural Cleanse) that can be used whilst stunned/etc and these can be cast during the countdown, breaking the race before it even starts. In this case because it never actually starts, the quest doesn't complete and you get re-started when the race resets.</p><p>Maybe it is only possible to break it this way now because they're ground races? When flying you wouldn't be able to cast anything.</p><p>2. Getting teleported at the start of the race makes you think "huh?" because you move less than a metre. Also it turns you around so you're facing the shore, not inland towards all the race stuff, which is a little confusing the first time. I realise it's a standard mechanic for races to teleport and get mounted, but could you have it place you further forward and facing the righ way? Or maybe move the pad somewhere else. It would be nice if it worked for those people who can't use the layout editor.</p>
