Is the anniversary event on test, as I may load my test chars in to check it out. But only if there is more than there was last year.

Blast from the Past (literally) with the Chronoportal PhenomenonThe Chronoportal Phenomenon – the EQ Anniversary event that takes you back to ancient times – will be live from March 20 to 28 to celebrate another year with our incredible games. Travel back in time and return with relics of the past if you dare!

Recalling this event, about level 15-20 was needed for the lowest-leveled portal. Its not an event meant to run every alt through. Its an event to celebrate the original EverQuest player's nemesis that they encountered at different levels throughout thier gameplay.

Really wish more portals were added and left in game year round! Should allow the portals to zone you into the real EQ1...freak the crud out EQ1 subscribers when some random toon pops in from EQ2.

So it is the same then.

I don't understand why they could not have had something for those who solo or can't group with a full group. We have an autistic son, so grouping with others is usually not an option.

There should be something for others. A shiny collection, or perhaps just something that could be bought from the barter merchant for gold/plat that celebrates the anniversary.

And I do recall a lot of others that shared my feelings about this last year.

I wasn't even really playing last year when the event came on. I was on EQ1 at the time, and resubbed to try the event and had absolutely no DoV gear on my lock and found just about every one of the portals soloable, with Lavastorm presenting the biggest challenge. Though this year there are mercs so that should make them all easier, especially for those not 90 and mentoring down.

I'm excited to hit the portals again. I wasn't quite 90 last year and had awful gear, so some of the portals were a challenge.

For the first time in ages I couldn't just walk in and solo a zone, it took real thought on how to take down some of the names.

However even with a group we got stopped on the Sol Eye portal, so I hope to be able to complete all of them this year, one way or another.

I'm all for adding a collection quest or some other quests so more people can participate.

I too would love to see the original EQ1 zones recreated, complete with nasty graphics, that would be a blast.

What would be wonderful, for next year of course, would be for a few pocket zones, where we could visit an area. Like Misty Thicket, Freeport before the Overlord, places like that. The shinies could just be in those zones too.

It could even work like with the Erollis festival this year, and the chronomage would send you there, warning you that you would be unable to do say anything about the future to the NPCs there.

A quest would be nice where you went around to different NPCs in current time, learning something about the past from each one. With a nice momento quest reward at the end of the quest sequence.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It still isn't too late this year to do something, even it is just adding a couple things to the barter merchant that don't require the instance tokens to get.

Something to keep in mind, this event (when orginally created) was something that was coded at the last minute in a really short period of time. It wasn't something that was planned out months in advance.

So I for one am happy we get to do it more than once, though I was orginally under the impression it was a one time deal.

They have a finite number of people and time to work on content. The event last year, I thought, was well done and I hope they can expand it in future years. I'm just happy to get to do it again as I had a lot of fun with it last year.
