Returning player questions

<p>I just returned from a long absence, being curious about the merc system.</p><p>Got a three month station pass and logged into my toons.</p><p>Before I bought AoD I thought I would shake off the dust of my characters. (88ish Dirge, and 85ish Defiler. No Raid equipment, Fabled, various pieces of the SoF gear)</p><p>I was shocked to see how easy the solo content had become. I didnt even have to use my dirge positionals and could basically autoattack my way through a Yellow mob.</p><p>So i jumped in some instances and immediately got my glutious maximus handed to me by green heroics.</p><p>1. I understand they might have made solo mobs easier because of the gear limitations on F2P players but is there challenging solo content out there for someone who is geared like me?</p><p>2. Will I be able to duo heroic dungeons with a merc? (Green dungeons are fine.)</p><p>3. What are the recommended mercs for a dirge and defiler? (defiler and bruiser?)</p><p>4. What wiki has been kept up with all the changes?</p><p>Cheers</p>

I agree the general wandering mobs in outside zones are too easy, but heroic dungeons were supposed to be for groups so it's not surprising you got beat. A good duo or merc should be able to do these older zones (and many raid chars can solo lots of them), but it really depends on classes. I , as a ranger, struggle to duo because I cant tank and can't heal, and you really need those attributes to do it at reasonable speed. Well geared pet classes or a tank/healer combo with one being a merc is the best for that.

<p>1.  I don't think the mobs got any easier, I think players have become more powerful with better equipment from the newer zones and with AA abilities.</p><p>2.  I am able to duo heroic dungeons with mercs.  My characters are a Conjurer with a Templar merc and a Mystic with a Paladin merc.</p><p>3.  A merc is just like a regular player group member so pick they merc that matches the class you want to group with.  There have been times when I was soloing with a merc and I died, but my merc stayed alive.  My Conjurer pet kept tanking and the merc rezzed me and we went on to win the fight!  BTW, you get an achievement for being rezzed by a merc.</p><p>4.  I think the wiki has kept up, but I find Zam is more complete.</p>
