If I use the launcher, let it load and hit Play, nothing comes up. If I go to the task manager, I can see that EverQuest2.exe is running, but it's only using about 11000kb of memory and nothing comes up no matter how long I wait. If I end the process and launch the EverQuest2.exe directly, I can get in fine.

I'm guessing from your post count that you were previously been able to play fine. Are you still experiencing this problem with the launchpad?

If so, can you tell me if running the launchpad as an admin helps any?

It was just a minute ago when I checked it, but it worked last night. I always run the lauchpad as admin, I actually set up a task to do it so UAC wouldn't bother me every time I clicked it.

I just started having this same issue. I logged in through the launcher fine last night but today I logged in through the launcher and the play button says "playing" but the client never opens. I've closed it several times now to retry, making sure in my task manager that the launcher was completely closed out before trying again.

NVM. restarted my computer and reopened the launcher and it did a small install of a couple seconds and now it works. I had just restarted my computer this morning so it's strange it didn't do whatever it was doing the first time I opened it.

It looks like the OP was able to fix his/her problem but I wanted to get in and post my findings as I was running into the same issue and this is the top thread on the subject.

Through some Startup Program Enabling/Disabling, I was able to find the program that was blocking my EQ2 client from launching

Raptr.

Raptr just launched a new client and somehow it was blocking Everquest2. So if anybody has Raptr and is still running into trouble, try disabling Raptr.

That's what is was for me too. I guess when I restarted my computer yesterday I was able to get into game before Raptr logged in. Today I wasn't able to get in game again until I closed out Raptr.

Not really sure what that is. Anyone have any suggestions for me? I was having absolutely no problems prior to the patch.

All has been fine until one of the latest patches. Takes a long time before playbutton becomes visible. And sometime after hitting the playbutton, everything dissaperes. Nothing. Start the game again and press play. And iv also had problems with "driver stopped responding" after the patch. Never had problem before it. Game freezes and shout down without me doing anyhing. No message, no nothing.

Same issue here. I start the launcher, press the Play button and nothing happens. Press the Play button a second time and it then says Playing. Most of the time the game never launches but sometimes right after a reboot it will let me in through the launcher.

I have started using the Everquest2.exe to get into the game. I make sure that the LaunchPad.exe and EQ2.exe are not running in the Task Manager Processes tab.

There seems to be something going on with the LaunchPad.exe and it is trying to do something on my hard drive constantly (HD access light comes on and stays on while LaunchPad is running). I checked in my Task Manager and the I/O Reads and I/O Writes (on Process tab select View->Select Columns... to see the I/O stuff) are constant for LaunchPad.exe (30 reads/sec, 300 writes/sec) and AwesomiumProcess.exe (30 reads/sec, 30 writes/sec) which is some part of the LaunchPad Libraries: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq/p...post_id=2766251

So for me the answer was to just stop using the launcher to launch my game. Hopefully SOE can look into the issues with the launcher constantly access the HD.

EDIT: I don't have Raptr so that isn't my issue.

Let's have you try doing a "clean boot" and see if that helps. I'll include our standard text instructions for how to do so here:

To disable background programs:

1. Select the START button.2. Select RUN, then type in "msconfig" (for Vista, type msconfig in the search bar at the bottom of the Start Menu)3. Press OK4. Select the STARTUP tab.5. Click the DISABLE ALL button.6. Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer and try the game again.

If you are still experiencing the same issue, please reply back.
