View Full Version : Would it seem unfair for scouts to be able to change poisons during combat? Opinions please.

I can understand that for PvP content scouts are already good enough, and should maybe choose the poisons carefully before running out to warfields, but...things do change when in combat that might prompt a change in the ones we are currently using.

Now, I don't understand why we are not able to do this during PvE combat...

So as I've asked, why?

You can change poisons mid combat, but you need to do 2 things. Turn off auto consume, and then use the desired poison. What you are unable to do is turn on auto consume mid fight.

One reason I never set it to auto consume. That way I can choose what I want whenever =).

Keep your poisons on a hot bar and click between them as needed - you will see poion consumption increase but that is the price of switching in combat.

This would all be great if poisons were half way decent and/or scaled with equipment. Instead we're still using poisons balanced for content from 2 years ago, even then it wasn't that good.

If they aren't going to raise the level cap any time soon the developers really need to start changing poisons, among other things, so they improve with equipment upgrades.

I haven't played scout my classes (aside from toying around with a BL lately) in a long time and I will weigh in saying this would not seem unfair. I also agree with the previous poster that poisons need to be revamped, not only for the sake of scouts but also to give alchemists something to do again.

the only way i would care what poison i have equiped if i even use them is if they were allowed to critical again. untill then they're a waste of effort. even mental breach is poop now that it doesn't critical :

Poisons need a complete overhall, big time (and have needed it for a looooong time). With the mechanics and stat changes over the past 1-2 years, several poison effects are now illogical. Not to mention that poison damage isnt affected by anything. poison from a naked lvl 90 toon is the same as it is for a full HM Drunder x4 geared toon... which makes no sense at all either.

Poison damage, at the very least, should be increased based on Agility bonuses and Potency values. That would at least allow it to actually scale somewhat as characters increase in power with gear. While it would be nice to see poisons critting again as well, that may make them TOO powerful. But potency at the very least should affect the damage/power drains.

The debuff/deagro poisons need a complete work over as well.

New and much more powerful poisons are coming with GU63 .

That still don't scale with stats from what I hear.

What is more unfair that some classes need to pay extra for their DPS/debuffs (ammo/poisons), yet that issue never gets addressed.
