Thank you for the bard pet idea, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE up the scout pet's DPS somehow??

I really really really want to use it, but the DPS difference is so vast I just can't justify using it. It's what attracted me to the class originally and I think it's a really neat idea. Is there a way it can gain flurry from our double cast chance? Or Multi-Attack from something? 10 multi attack on a scout just doesn't cut it... I really want to use this pet..

Maybe make the frenzy line of pet buffs give flurry/MA? DPS and haste are easy to get from group buffs...

I WANT to use the scout pet though, even if he was only 5% behind on DPS I would. The fact he does less than half my mage pet in DPS makes it impossible to justify using him and it makes me VERY sad. I've got all master pets and pet stances too btw. It's just the Rending line giving DPS/haste doesn't help when those come from a million group buffs anyways. Just some flurry or Multi attack would help a million times more..

(edit for typo. english is no first language)

What's actually funny is that the tank pet in fact outdps the scout pet. Btw... You guys don't have problem with buggy Teamwork? I can't train or be in a group where someone trains because my pet will get aggro as soon as someone in the group gets hit and I get put into combat. (No it's not because of defend me/defend self, it doesnt actually cast anything just generates aggro for no reason)

the scout pet will never do the damage it use to. the days of me rolling into a raid with my master night shade are long gone

the only thing that could save the scout pet is letting pet AA's give 400MA and that's not going to happen lol

I can see two different ways to alter the scout pet to be more desirable.

One way would be to link potency to the scout pet's DPS mod, and link crit bonus to the pet's double attack. That would probably require some fine tuning as the upper ends of raid geared Necros might unballance the double dip that the modified scout pet would benifit from. If this kind of modification was done it might even be reasonable to eliminate the scout pet's CAs and just have it do melee DPS in order to make the double dip effect a moot point.

A second way to modify the scout pet would be to introduce a non-DPS factor that makes it desirable. Have the scout pet provide a small group life tap effect with a range of 5 meters. This way it benifits other melee. Have AA lines provide stoneskin procs in that same 5 meters. More AA to proc 10 seconds of AoE immunity in that same radius. An AA line to add a power component to the lifetap. Another AA to add a defense debuff with each hit. A series of small benifits that when added together people would consider loosing the mage pet DPS in heavy melee groups or really tough fights. In this way the necros gain more utility and a true option instead of a different flavor of the same DPS.

Fixing the scout pet is simple, increase its lethargic attack speed and lower its long spell reuse timers so it can actually do some DPS. The game is so slanted now towards melee damage with all this multi-attack and reforging that mainly helps melee classes. If SOE is slanted towards melle damage why not let our melee scout pet do as much or even more DPS than the mage pet? Every other melee class has huge dps increases with MA and reforging? I never understood why the scout pet doesn't do the same amount of dps as the mage pet, what is the reason its nerfed anyway? They give summoners pets, but then make them useless what could possibly be the reasoning behind this stupidity, make the class fun to play and usefull like it should be and more people would play and love the game.

Even worst is the coercer and Illy pets, completely useless there pets wont last more than 10 seconds in any fight, why bother to even summon one, this game is too nerfed for mage classes. All pets should have AOE immunity so they can fight like there supposed to. Pets should only die if their attacked directly and killed.

If you think those are the problems with the Scout pet you need to do some better research.
