Hi, im not sure if this is exactly the right place to post thisor if this was asked before (im sorry couldnt find anything, but maybe its my fault)

Anyways right now im playing on a desktop computer, but i need to buy a laptop for traveling so i can play EQ2 on it.

Now i can not and do not want to buy an expensive one, because it will probably only be used for a few weeks, but i still would like to be able to play eq2 on it LOL soooo, what would be the min requirements i need to look for ? Does video memory and processor speed matters ? Any help would be appreciated

Thank you.

You can check our minimum requirements here:

https://help.station.sony.com/app/a...ail/a_id/10562/

What I'd personally reccomend is find yourself a machine with at least 4gb ram, and a decent (at least dual-core) processor. You'll also want to try and find one with ATI or Nvidia graphics (*not* intel) as they perform a lot better and have much less issues.

Is there a min for how big the graphics card should be ? That webpage wont come up for me but maybe cause i wasnt signed in i will try again, and thank you

Technically speaking the minimum requirement is 64mb - though I'm not sure the latest content would run in that. The reccomended spec is a 512mb video card, 256 should function well also at lower graphics settings.

Hi,

its me again, and i was wondering if this would run eq2 at all :

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16834158243

I dont know what shared graphics mean or if its any good for eq2 ?

Thank you again

Shared memory definitely performs slower than dedicated video memory, so it's not ideal, but that machine should run EQ2 without any major issues so far as I can tell.

IMO, no.

First, because of the processor's speed (the GHz) - EQII likes a fast cpu - the faster, the better. (I'd say a bare minimum of 2.5 GHz - 1.9 GHz is just not enough *umph*)

Next on my list is the graphics card. It's not really a plug-in card, but an integrated graphics controller. You don't want to play EQII (or any graphically-intense game) with an integrated graphics controller - something with its own 'dedicated' memory is what you're looking for (as opposed to using 'shared' memory).

I'm a fan of AMD's A-series APU's, but that A4 really is ill-equipped for the job.

As graphics adapters go, by the way, I'm a ATI/AMD guy (although the brand *really* doesn't matter - both AMD and NVidia make excellent graphics adapters) but, in AMD's 6xxx series, anything less than the 6770 is cleverly packaged poop (imo).

And finally, that 5400 rpm HD would be a pretty substantial bottleneck in an otherwise optimal system, I'm thinking. Something with a solid state drive (SSD) would be optimal, I think (they're very fast, but also still fairly expensive technology) - but for a platter drive I'd say nothing slower than 7200 RPM.
