Greetings,

Yesterday (Saturday) I started getting an occasional screen lock in game with the following message:-

"VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands".

The game then continued to play apparantly as normal 'till the next occurance. This happened several times so I reinstalled my graphics drivers; to no avail. It has been happening again today. When the problem occurs the screen blacks out, recovers and I get the same message:

Is it a fault with my PC or the game? I have absolutly no idea what a VPU is or does.

As I am not sure what all this means I wonder if some one can offer me some advice. My Graphics card is an ATI HD4600 and I am using Windows XP.

Thanks in advance.

Are you seeing this problem occur in the same places (zones), or purely random anywhere in EQ2?Have you tried uninstalling ALL of your video card drivers + software, do a power cycle reboot, and then re-install your drivers and software? (dont just restart, turn the machine off, then back on). This can fix problems for some people. Are the fan (or fans) on your GPU spinning? Heating may be an issue if they have siezed up, or slowed down.If a full driver/software reinstall does not work, and the cooling fans on your graphics card are functional, chances are your video card is in the early stages of a drawn out death.

Problem solved.
