which is more important casting speed or DPS?

<p>I'm a 60 illy and I noticed the 60's gear goes between ability casting speed and spell weapon damage per second.</p><p>What stat should I go for?</p>

<p>As an illy, probably neither <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Or whatever give you the most bang for your bucks when reforging into an useful stats.</p><p>I wouldn't even use a wand leveling with an illu/coercer (break mez when things go wrong and will do way less DPS than using a melee weapon just with your own buffs) so Spell auto DPS would be useless.</p><p>Casting speed isn't that bad but as an illy, you (should) already have a lot of cast speed and as most of your spells have a low cast time to begin with, you won't get much benefit from it (but more than from spell auto DPS).</p>

<p>Until you reach 100% casting speed, either base (which you won't get till lvl 90) or with the help of perpetuality, cast speed will always be far and away better than any spell weapon stats for an illy.</p>

You can always reforge away most, if not all of that stupid spell weapon stat too.

<p>At low levels, solo, when you are likely still using root / nuke strategies, you wouldn't even want to have a spell weapon equipped since that would only increase the chance of your root breaking.</p>
