I updated LoN to the standalone LP4 client last night. This morning I go to launch EQ2 via it's normal LP4 standalone and instead it keeps launching "Station LaunchPad" which doesn't appear to allow me to login to ANY games and spews out an error where the station news section is.

Give me back my game please!

I do have Station Launcher but I haven't used it since December because it was constantly repatching LP4 and that annoyed me. I don't know why updating LoN's standalone would have done this to me but considering I haven't even had my morning coffee yet, I'm pretty annoyed.

The infantry and cosmic rift buttons are the only things on there that work and attempt to launch games. Frankly I didn't even know those games existed and don't want to play them.

The more games button opens up a web site. Gee, thanks.

For now I can login with EverQuest2.exe but come patch day on Tuesday that won't be the case.

edit: I grabbed my husband's LaunchPad.exe file. I pity those people who did not have that option and were affected by this.

Cyliena to the rescue! Omg I had the exact same thing happen and it was really scaring and frustrating me. I grabbed my husband's file as well and it fixed it...but I'm afraid it could happen again. I wish I knew why it did that, what happened...if anyone knows or finds out can they post here? I really don't want this to happen again. I did not update LoN or anything, I did NOTHING different than I normally do. So Cy, I doubt that did it, I say it was strange coincidence.

There's actually a pretty easy fix for this! Just grab the EverQuest II Installer - then run it, choose "install a new copy" then point it to your current EQ2 install folder (where you running everquest2.exe from). That will throw the Launchpad 4 files in your directory, and once you fire it up it'll realize it already has everything downloaded!
