So, I got an email stating my account has been suspended due to it being "compromised". I've not played on my account since earlier in 2009! But that doesn't make this any less upsetting. Obviously I can log into my account on the station site. And obviously I'd love to have the account cleared of whatever happened to it to make the account suspended.

But here is the problem. It says I have 72 hours to respond or I can open a ticket on the web site. But every time I TRY to open a ticket it takes me to a page that says this:

Central Authentication Service

You have successfully logged into the Central Authentication Service. For security reasons, please Log Out and Exit your web browser when you are done accessing services that require authentication!

It does not redirect, does not open a new page or a popup window and does not have any place to "log in".

If the ticket closes due to the three day weekend, does that mean my account is gone forever? And even though I have seen the email posted on the forums here (after a google search to determine the legitimacy of it) I still do not feel comfortable sending the amount of information it is requesting from me back through email.

Personally with the amount of phising going on now days I think it's a bit silly that SOE would ever send out an email to its customers requiring the detailed information that is requested in this email... Especially because it asks for the answer to your security question. I mean, I don't even own a WoW account and get emails from time to time telling me that my non-existant WoW account has been banned and to send my information back via email to have the issue resolved.

By the way, the email:

Greetings,I’m contacting you today as it has come to my attention that your Everquest II account, “XXXXXXX,” is compromised at this time. Therefore, I have suspended your account until you have an opportunity to re secure it. In order to re secure it, we’ll need to verify your identity so that whatever third party that compromised your account can’t just get right back in. To that end, you can either reply to this email directly with the following information, or if you aren’t comfortable with that, give us a call at 1-858-537-0898 with this information handy, and we’ll be happy to get this process started.- Last four digits of the credit card used to bill the account:- The name on that card:- The COMPLETE billing address:- Current Answer to your Security Question:- Account / Registration Key (usually found on the back of your CD case or on the instruction manual):- Real Name:- E-mail Address:- Station Username:- Birthdate:If neither of those options work for you, we also can help you via live chat - details on that and the rest of our Technical Support channels can be found here: http://www.soe.com/support under the Technical Support section. I hope that this reaches you well, and that we can get you sorted and back in game as soon as possible!GM AphobianceSony Online Entertainment LLC

You were given multiple options, you can call them or you can e-mail them with that info.

That is the proper # for SOe customer service I can confirm that.

I would not have a problem answering these questions via email.

If you are really that cautious send just your numeric address and month/date or year of birth and explain that you are just not comfortable doing that fully in an email.

This is S.O.P for account recovery with SOE really nothing to worry about, and your toons will not be deleted.

It's a long weekend, so I wouldn't be able to call until Tuesday (after 72 hours are up). But I also wanted to really point out that I am unable to receive any form of help via the website. Perhaps that is more of a website related issue, or it may have something to do with my account and the fact that it is currently suspended.
