Hardly ever had problems before. But the past few weeks I am crashing many times a week during zoning. The game restarts fine, but after a crash and restart. The gameplay is just fine, other than frame rate going down to very slim single digits in the city of freeport. Its just at least a few times a day the game crashes when zoning. More than it has in the last year total actually.

I can restart and play just fine, but it is getting rather annoying. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Very common problem for me and my guildies.

Think SoE will take it up on their agenda around 2014-2015.

if they have discovered it themselves even at that time.

Perhapse they should play there own game sometime

to see what its like with all bugs.

Mercs and dogs that goes back and forth in 2 square cm at the speed of 190mph

is the best atm. Really annoying.

Or when the broker takes like 1min between each transaction. really ****** me of.

and so on....

Well, after several, several attempts to figure out my crashing problem, I did it! Now I am not sure if my solution will help anyone else, but it immediately cleared up my problem.

Before I fixed I had tried:

3 to 4 different graphics drivers (I run an ATI Radeon HD 5650 Mobility)

Uniinstalling completely and reinstalling EQ2 (I even tried the streaming and full-blown versions)

Ran Ccleaner, anti-virus, and anti-spyware/malware programs

Ran in compatibility mode and as Administrator

Reset my modem and router, refreshed IP address etc.

So, I was thinking about everything I did between the time where EQ2 was running flawlessly to when it started crashing every few minutes and running like crap. The only thing I could think of that I changed was I switched from using Panda Cloud Anti-virus Free Edition, to using ESET NOD32 Anti-Virus. So, I uninstalled ESET NOD 32 and PRESTO!! EQ2 runs like a charm again. Not a single crash since!

Now, I realize some people who are crashing are probably not using ESET NOD32, but I figure there are some people using it that haven't put 2 and 2 together yet and this could possibly fix their problem. Or there could be other Anti-Virus/Anti-spyware programs that are affecting the game. My ESET NOD32 was a anti-virus and Anti-spyware prog wrapped into one, so it could be any security type software affecting it. I don't encourage going without security software, just temporarily uninstall and see if it fixes it. I know it fixed mine! I am very happy and contently playing EQ2 again. Looks like I'll be going back to Panda Cloud for now.

I may have resolved my own issue yesterday witha couple of easy fixes. I went from crashing almost every timed I zoned up to 15 times a play session to zero after I made the changes. Here's what I did:

I removed all shortcuts off my desktop and made the home screen style the Windows Default. I also cleaned out my cache.

I also deleted the Qeynos files out of the paks folder and relaunched the game for them to be re-installed as indicated in another support thread.

Seems to have resolved the issue.

Edited 1/18-Well this fix lasted for only a couple of hours on the evening on 1/16. Last night it froze six times in a one hour period. I guess I'll have to re-open the ticket I had them close on this. Sigh. All this just to play a game. It's pretty annoying.

Only today I have been noticing this now. I have crashed 4 times today, 3 times during zoning, 1 time I was just standing still and it decided to crash after I had opened up the guild list.

Crashing. And Crashing. And crashing some more.

Will. It. Ever. Stop? Really sick and tired of crashing all the time when zoning with no error messages.

I've had some of these issues as well ... Going to do some updating on drivers to see if it helps ... Hopefully, things will not get worse.

Are we the only paying mmo players that has to fix our own sollutions to the bugs in the game?

Very strange behavior....

This is so noticeable and annoying. It's not a one off time every few weeks, it's daily and multiple times. Something is broken somewhere and seems like no one is noticing. Ehrm I mean no one that can actually fix this on the game side end...

We're working on several known issues on our end and have been inundated with similar reports originating from other sources like the client side. It's multiple issues all resulting in the same error so it's a bit harder to weed through and resolve the ones we can and get development assistance on the ones we can't.

In the meantime, the best method of submitting and tracking issues like this that do not require you and I troubleshooting together (although I would like to), would be to open a support ticket directly and include your DXDIAG/MSINFO information.
