Templars are so unloved now that their worldwide channel (nektulos.templars) is no longer active.

templars are my 2nd fav healers for the hardest heroic zones (eow, tot etc) and they are still a very good choice in (main) tank or mage group. They do much better as solo healers than shamans especially when it comes to heal and cure. Good wardens are on par with good templars but bring less hp / mitig that is still much needed in those zones, but fury cant compete in healing power.

The tanks are worthless and can't stay alive. Easier to be the tank yourself and let them help with dps. Even when they still hate they still don't get as hard as a tank it would seem.

Is this about levelling or about the abysmal situation for end game raiding for the templars as it's simply better to take 4 inquisitors at the moment?

If raiding yeh, give them somthing. Sanctuary is useful for hm eirreen, true. Stoneskins are nice and with the new mythical cloak for them on zam (don't think it's in game yet) they will be even nicer but they just don't cut it. It doesn't help that an inquisitor can solo heal any heroic zone in the game (well has for me apart from hard mode eow which I've never done bar the first boss).

Perhaps if bosses hit hard enough to warrant a templar over an inquisitor in a tank group that would help?

The low level poor dps does suck but hey, with the GU61 gear you'll probably do at least what inquisitor dps was before the GU61 change.

Are you trying to say that Inquisitors should not be able to solo heal every heroic zone in the game (bar EoW_HM)? And if not, do you believe that Templars should be able to solo heal every heroic zone in the game? If you do not believe that neither Templar OR Inquisitor should be able to solo heal heroic content, how do you expect SOE to design content to enforce a fairly distributed healing viability across ALL TIERS of heroic gameplay (tofs -> rime -> kael -> drunder), making it so Templars can solo heal some, but not others? Making it so Wardens can solo heal some, but not others? Making it so Furies can solo heal some, but not others? Making it so Inquisitors can solo heal some, but not others. Making it so Mystics can solo heal some, but not others? Making it so Defilers can solo heal some, but not others? Keeping in mind that each tier of heroic progression typically has 3 zones, the distrubution would need to occur within each tier (tofs -> rime -> kael -> drunder). I am looking forward to reading your response detailing how SOE could achieve such without tearing the game to pieces.Regarding raids... Guess what happens when SOE introduces easymode raid zones, intended to provide much more lax requirements on healer formation? Of course the healers with good curing and utility will enjoy more desirability on easy content, over the healers where the class focuses more on HPS capacity. If easymode raids were outright removed from EQ2, Templars would see an immediate boost in desirability (like in pre-EasyMode expansions). Game design should NOT be based on easymode, dumbed down content. It also seems that some Templars are still stuck on the "we don't have a second group cure" mentality, and fail to look at the real issues in DoV, like mobs MA/Flurry, tank avoidance, and the sheer significance of wards. They are much more significant topics, but require a sound comprehension of game mechanics to understand.
