Best duo ?

<p>Hello, me and my wife are going to try to get back into EQ2 again and will be Silver members. When we left over a year ago we had a Brigand and Mystic that worked well (Tank & Melee spec), but we also have a number of low level alts that we can choose from.</p><p>We also had some fun with a Melee Warden and a DPS Fury but I think the Melee spec'ed healers and even tank spec'ed scouts have changed since we were last playing so we are stumped.</p><p>Other than the Beast lord and taking into consideration we like utility and survival over DPS or Raiding since we will be Duo'ing and not powerleveling for a guild/raid force.</p><p>What would you recomend with all the changes that are out now, thanks ?</p>

<p>I recommend you go Gold and be done with it.  Silver isn't going to give you many options, 8 classes in fact, none of them utility.</p><p>Seriously, go look CAREFULLY at the free restrictions.</p>

I don't really know what the class restrictions are for Silver, but I'd take Bandit's advice and just go gold. Either way, my main is a bruiser and he's worked very well with Pally or Inquis. Small self heal, tanking with the plate toon, lots of DPS on bruiser. Good stuff! My 2c anyway.

<p>If you don'thave DOV purchased then pretty much any two classes will allow you to bust throuh most any heroic around thru SF quite easily.</p><p>I'd start to think that running with two Monks each with healing a Merc (1-Inquisitor, 1-Templar) would let you pretty much own anything around.</p><p>and to Bandit's point, silver might be free but far too restrictive for me.  I like bag space for all my usable lootz, two things Silver don't get.</p>

<p>We do not have DOV and do not plan on buying it or paying for a sub again (gold), we just dont have the time to play as much as we used to.</p><p>I think that even as a silver member (previous sub's) we can use any characters we already had before F2P ? So we have a Coercer & Illy, a Fury & Warden, a Brig and Mystic, a pair of Wizzy's and a pair of SK's etc. I just wanted to make sure we chose the best classes for our alloted character slots for silver.</p><p>Can a Inq. or Warden still be viable as a melee spec or a Brig as a tank spec for non raid but at least Heroic content ?</p><p>I dont know what a Merc is ? is it a NPC you can hire to Duo with, so we could play with one class and a merc/npc to make a 4 man group ? If so where can I find out more info on this ?</p><p>Thanks.</p></blockquote><p>If you are not planning on buying DOV, then I'm sure you're not going to be buying AOD any time soon either.  Mercs, as you hinted at, are NPC's which you hire (1 pre real toon), and they are part of your group same as any other player would be.  However, they are only available thru the AOD expansion.</p><p>Since you have expressed interest, by posting in the forums, I'll sugest you just get back on your feet as far as getting back into the game.  Take it slow and build up some knowledge.  Watch for the SOE sales on Station Cash and buy any SC via the Wal-mart game cards becasue they provide a 500 SC bonus.  The current SC price for DOV is 1,999.  One $15 walmart card redeemed dueing a double SC event will net 4,000 SC.  I doubt you'll be able to buy two copies with that one card, but you will most likely use SC throughout your silver existance one way or another.</p><p>SK & and Healer will rock the house, the strongest healer out of the ones you listed is the Mystic and would be king with a SK tank.  That duo would pretty much allow you to run any dungeon available under available content.</p>

<p>For very-casual free-play duo without plans on really spending too much time or getting too deep it's a fairly easy choice. SK as a Tank/Damage and Inq as a Healer/Damage. A great and fun very-casual pair for a duo.</p><p>If not an Inq then a Mystic.</p>
