I had an odd problem with lighting...see picture...things that should show light in a 360 degree circle were only showing half:

Chandeliers, floor lamps, everything..was really odd. I remembered that Windows updater had updated my Nvidia drivers last week. A check showed that they were from May and that there was a newer one available now. (Not sure why Windows gave me the old one!!). Anyway, a install of the new drivers fixed me up right! So, if you see weird things all of a sudden, it could be drivers. (Not always I know, but could be!)

I've been having strange lighting/shading issues for almost a month now. They started when AoD went live. It was random, but fairly frequent. Whenever I logged in a character that was sitting in Frostfell, their gear would appear to be reverse shaded. What would normally be light was dark, and what should be dark was light. This ONLY happened on toons that were wearing appearance gear I discovered (in the appearance inventory). Toons without appearance items were unaffected. By unequipping and re-equipping the gear, it would usually reset the lighting to the correct look.

Most of my toons live in Halas, and I was noticing a lot of very dark shading in that zone as well, both in the city and in the houses. I could zone in and out of my house and get a different effect each time. One on pass, the doors and wood floors would be very dark. On another pass, they would look normal, and then yet another time they'd look only a little darker than normal. I noticed it on the wood walls inside as well.

Sometimes mailboxes and world globes would have that reversed lighting effect as well, similar to what I described on my appearance gear.

In the below pictures you can see what I mean about the shading being different on the walls and doors every time I zoned in and out. It was random.

This is an example of the weirdly shaded world bell:

And here is an example of the way my gear is shaded/lit wrong. The first picture shows what it looked like when I logged in. The second picture shows what it looked like after I simply unequipped and then re-equipped my appearance gear.

EDIT: Oops. Meant to also post that I had updated my drivers as well but it didn't fix this.

These are two different issues. The second one with the clothing and other things being randomly shaded wrong (happened to me as well) is being talked about here: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=510499 Today's (the 10th) Hotfix was supposed to address this lighting issue according to it's notes.

Yes, it's true, my issue was on top of the usual lighting issue we've been having....

Those types of systems are definitely being inspected and worked on. Keep an eye on patch notes moving forward. I'll reproduce as much as I can to add to the development reports but for the most part these are 'known issues'.
