Well i don't use auto face often, except when i solo but there are some specific situations in which having it on would help. Is there a way do it with a command and hencefore to create a macro.

A further idea would be to put this switch in the ability book, new players will probably appreciate the possibility to turn the mob magnet off or on according to their wishes.

oh thanks ....

The idea to have it the ability book is for newplayers. Not at all for me, most are probably puzzled by the auto face feature. Having the option much more visible would help.

If a new player was actually annoyed by autoface, it is easy enough to find how to disable it. The checkbox to do such is one of the first things you come across in the very logically placed "Contols" section. Making it even easier, it is NOT an "advanced" option either, it shows under the default/basic option menu selections.New players are not in need of an extra button, or advanced features. They need to learn basic gameplay, and progress from there. It is fine the way it is, options easily found by anyone who cares to find it.

I've never turned off the auto-face. Tell me why would I want to? I'm assuming we're talking about the character autofacing the mob, not the camera, which I've turned off ofc.

Reasoning for me is - It just annoys me when I'm casting to be facing a different direction than I'm running. Often when I'm playing a caster - I'll root something and move to gain distance, it just seems odd if I'm running facing the monster the whole time. Since I can move the camera actually facing something as a caster isn't at all important for most spells.

If you do something like this :

/save_custom_options_file test

Then it will save a text file called test.opt in your everquest 2 directory that contains the commands for all your current options , so you could try looking at that to determine the appropriate command.

If you know where the option is within the UI , then you can just try changing it , saving out a new options file , and then seeing what has actually changed.

I don't know for sure which option it is you are after , but ics_combatautoface looks plausible.
