I do not understand why this is happening, and I could not find other similar questions here.

To add insult to injury, when it does finally launch, every few times on average it will freeze my entire computer whatever character I choose to play immediately upon entering game. Evey other time on average, I cannot even get to task manager. I've had far too many hard boots with this game.

Can someone please help me with some ideas of what settings to look at and change, or any other suggestions?

Thank you in advance!

Bella

edited to add more details

how much RAM (Memory) does your computer have? I could see that slow of a load time if you were extremely low on memory since it would be caching back and forth to your hard drive.

Silat

Are you using the full or streaming LaunchPad 4?

You can also check your own connection speed at a place like www.speedtest.net (post results here if you need help intepreting them).

System specifications, like your RAM, can also contribute or cause this. Post your DXDIAG information for me and we'll review it and make recommendations.

I have 2g of ram on this machine, and never had any problems before the expansion and new LaunchPad, so I am convinced it is something therein.

I'm not sure if I have the streaming or full. Where do I see which it is, please? And what do you recommend it being set on?

About LaunchPad

LaunchPad 4.0.0.319

Shell 4.0.0.323

Install 1.0.3.159

Speedtest

3.09 DL and .57 upload, ping at 45ms

Direct X Info

DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

DX Setup Parameters: Not found

DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.5512 32bit Unicode

This looks like my issue almost exactly- something changed after the update and now your game has changed itself to the streaming version which sounds like it is as unplayable for you as it was for me. I too could not move or zone.

I tired a full re download of the launchpad and even a backup of the game files from the start of Dec to get it back to the original full client I was using and it did not fix the issue- in fact it made it so It is now IMPOSSIBLE for me to get in the game at all.

Sorry I cant be of more help but for now wait until a techie gets back to you- I agree that this is smoething thats happened with the new update on Jan 10th. Good luck hope they can fix this but for now- my advice is sit tight and dont do anything with your files.....

Thanks, Humblekatz! Glad to see I'm not the only one; however, you misunderstood about when my issues started. They started with the expansion, not the last update on Jan 10.

Do you know how to stop it from streaming and set it to full perchance?

Thanks,

Bella

Frame rates were around 100 even on a slow connection.

I DID find a solution this Ara but it is a bit tricky to explain and I got booted out of the forum while I was typing it. If you want me try to help you please feel free to PM me and I will try to give you a step by step guide as to what to do if you dont hear from tech in the mean time.

Sorry, Joshua I managed to fix it before I got an answer but its pretty technical and though it may not be the right thing to do it worked for me. Main thing is log in is back to under 20 seconds and zoning is back to 10 secs and frame rate back up to 100+ now its not trying to use the streaming client and no more freezes.

WARNING it involves deleting files from your system so PLEASE unless you have a backup of the game before when it worked for you, Ara dont assume that this will work without a full re download of the entire game.

If you still want me to tell you what I did, please let me know.

It will need a full re-download and will be time consuming but there are known issues with our streaming LP4 that are being worked on. I do apologize that this resolution may be a lengthy process.

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=509747
