Paladin Merc Bug?

<p>Not sure if this was intended, but I just kept sending my paladin merc in to attack and he slowly got whittled down until he died, he made no attempt to heal himself even though he has heal spells.  I tried another round where I waited between sending him in to attack, but only the "tick healing" took place, he never attempted to heal himself.</p>
