Previous announcement: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=509067

On the Splitpaw server we have yet to actually see much improvement in the lag times.

Indeed, despite a tech support discussion that has been going on for over a month now, and involved three different SOE tech support people, I and my guildies are still experiencing lag which at times makes the game unplayable. The techs refuse to acknowledge that the problem is not on our end, despite computers, routers and internet connections passing every test with flying colours.

We are all long term players - and full subscribers - to EQ2. However there is no point in subscribing to a game that we cannot play. If the servers cannot be fixed we will move to a different game, and take our money with us.

So I am hoping that someone can tell us that the problems will be fixed soon.

Regards

Allon

This thread has been awfully quiet, as has my tech support request.

Is this problem likely to be fixed soon? Or should I just give up? I would prefer to play EQ2 but I am rapidly losing hope of any resolution to this problem.

I would guess that it won't be Sony's problem for much longer: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=513483

Can you point me to where I refused to acknowledge the problem being anywhere other than on the client side? I'm pretty sure that never happened and there wasn't 3 techs, just me. I'm the only tech rep that posts on the EQII forums and have been for the past year.

Now, on to the problem itself. What started in November was specific issue that has been resolved. A majority of splitpaw players are reporting no issues at all and many people we've worked with back in November tracking down what was wrong are also no longer experiencing any issues. We have several hundred players with no lag whatsoever.

That's what needs to be worked in to the formula and that was what I echoed over and over again in November. Unless you include yourself in the troubleshooting process we can't even say you are experiencing the same issue as the next person and therefor cannot provide you with any information that we could call relevant to your problem.

What you perceive as a refusal to accept anything is simply a standard troubleshooting process used to prove where the problem is, even on our end, even somewhere along the path to or from our servers. This is a common misconception that can cause the entire support process to simply fail to achieve anything.

Let us troubleshoot no matter how passionate you are that the problem doesn't exist on your end. If we can factually prove that statement then I can push for a development side resolution, and even to start an investigation, much more efficiently. Once again, I'm the only tech in that discussion and your claims about my stance are patently false.

Seeing as the issue that caused a bulk of the lag in November is no longer the same issue causing lag today, let's find out what it is, perhaps?

Open a support ticket, include MSINFO/DXDIAG and the results to our standard network test to the EQII servers. I'll lock this particular thread up and any follow up to any questions I posed can be PMed to me.
