I cannot determine how to launch the EQII game, now that this new Launchpad is used.

I have both EQI and EQII installed

I am a Station Pass subscriber

I can get into EQI no problem.

When I launched EQII (EQ2.exe), it downloaded a new Launchpad

When the LaunchPad starts, I can't see where to launch EQII (and everything else seems broken: Cannot login to chat servers error, help goes to a 404 error page, etc.)

I select "More Games" but that just takes me to a web site

I see in the Launchpad sticky in this forum it has links to install (but with little other explanation).

Do I need to re-install EQII?

If so, do I have to put it in that C:UsersPublic... directory, or can I leave it in C:Program Files(x86)....?

I'm on W7 Ultimate, x64, SP1.

If you are using Station Launcher to access different games, this won't work for EQ2 anymore. You need to run the new LaunchPad. If you run the latest installer and point it at your existing EQ2 setup, it should install LaunchPad4 in your EQ2 folder and not change anything else. You should not have to reinstall EQ2. Do be sure to trash old shortcuts and make sure there are no stray copies of eq2.exe left over. You want to be sure your EQ2 shortcut points to launchpad.exe in your EQ2 folder.

It is a fact that Win7 meddles way too much and especially causes trouble for games and utilities. That's the big reason SOE decided to make UsersPublic the new default install path. It just solved a mass of issues. When I set up EQ2 on my Win7 machine a year ago, I made darn sure to create C:Games and C:Utils to hold vulnerable programs.
