I just reinstalled EQ2 from the streaming client and now find that I no long have the option in performance to select shaders 3.0. I had it enabled in my prior installation and now it is missing.

I didn't see anything in my ini files that would indicate it being deactivated. I do find ":r_initialized_shader3_ambient true", does this mean shaders are on by default?

If not, can you help me get the option back in my options?

My current video card is a GeForce GTX 560 TI

They removed it due to it being so wonky.

Silat

The odd thing it was available and functioning prior to my reinstall. I would like to get it back in my current installation as I enjoy the shaders, bugs and all. Hopefully a TSR can assist me in getting the right configuration loaded to my ini files.

To be frank, it’s cool in some areas and it’s an eyesore in others. Worse, it occasionally crashes users completely. It’s going to take us quite a while to make it work they way it should, and until we get that work done, we don’t want users to be crashing while using it. So we are disabling this feature for now. We have every intention of bringing it back (or some version of a graphics shader improvement that’s even better than this one), but it won’t be soon. EQII still looks fantastic with the original shaders, and in fact, it often looks far better than when using Shader 3.0, so we hope this inconvenience will be very minor for you."

It's a real bummer though... just came back from a long break from this game. I originally left due to it's performance problems (awful framerates on superior hardware). I came back to tinker with all the new settings and I enabled Shader 3.0 and I had great results. Framerates were great and the game looked awesome, I was really impressed. Now it's gone and I'm back to being disappointed in EQ2 performance/graphics. Shame.
