SOE is making a worthy fundraiser effort for Child's Play. A eq2players news article on it is linked below, and the information in it is directed toward the Childs Play Charity pack. There is even a unique "Child's Play Charity" section in the main Marketplace window that contains the said pack with the cosmetic pet and house pet.The link in mention : http://www.everquest2.com/news/arti...current&id=5062But what I am asking for someone at SOE to verify, is the status on "Cloak of the Snowfall", currently a sale item for 300SC. It can be found on the Marketplace in the "sale" section, as well as in the "appearance_items -> cloaks" section. The text description of this cloak declares that for every Cloak of the Snowfall purchased, SOE will donate $10 to the Child's Play Charity. I seek verification because it is not in the specially created section of the MarketPlace for the charity event, and does not get a mention on the EQ2players news article, linked above.I am not fond of cloaks, I would never wear it, but for a good cause i'd be heavily inclined to buy a couple. Due to the ambiguous situation, can a staff member from SOE please verify the status of the cloaks? Given SOE's run with itemisation lately, I hope it is not one of those "Oh... Whoops!!" moments.Thanks.

So most of the trappings of the holiday are from Christmas, but because we're in NORRATH, they don't call it that.

I have no idea what you're talking about here.

wonder if agnot is short for agnostic.. and doesnt like the representation of a so called "christian holiday" however as another poster put it well.. this actually isnt a christian holiday its a pagan holiday taht the dark age roman church tried to capitalize on to try to elminate by claiming it was the birth of jesus... which as most historians speculate was in september not december any way...

It's almost certainly a whoops. That cloak was the Child's Play item last year. I really liked it so I was glad to see a chance to grab another, but I wouldn't expect any donation from its purchase; they just left the original text or accidentally brought it back (possibly a script analyzing sales numbers pulled it in to be discounted, who knows)

Cloak still says that in the decsription if you purchase one.

Given they are advertising the cloak as providing a $10 donation for every cloak purchased and there is a definite real-money purchase involved, I don't believe they legally can avoid giving the donation for the cloaks.

Nonetheless, I agree, a confirmation from a red name would be appreciated. I asked a moderator to provide such on the other thread I started and instead they came in and deleted out all the places where people were asking for confirmation...

It starts to cast some suspicion. I was having a hard time convincing people in general chat that the cloak is NOT part of the Child's Play promotion. They were arguing that the item said it was (which is true) and that they read on the forums that it was (which is partly true, but the information was false). Basically a lot of people are STILL buying the cloak even as we speak, thoroughly convinced that it is contributing to the Child's Play promotion. This needs to be broadcast in the MOTD, not just silently fixed.

I just checked, and the cloak still has the misleading text. Unfortunately, people are still buying it, both regarding and citing the description of the cloak as fact, when it is false.I hope Domino follows up on sorting out both the situation with this cloak, and also sort out the moderator who felt it neccessary to delete posts that queried the legitimacy of the cloak on the similar thread. That, IMO, is more disgraceful than accidentally missing old fluff text.
