So, I've got 12GB left on my gaming hard drive (I don't see myself deleting anything anytime soon). I'm using the non-streaming version of the LaunchPad client. Yet, everytime the game launches, I get this annoying little popup stating that the streaming client recommends 14GB free for its assets. If the drive fills up, it'll shut down the game. Can I suggest this be taken out of the non-streaming client? Or at least take it out if you have the full game installed? You are already doing a check for the files. Just have this respond to that. Thanks.

well if you have multiple hard drives i would suggest seeing how big your swap file is if it happens to be 2GB you could move that used space from your main hard disk to a second hard disk or devided among the other disks on your system.

that way you'll have 14GB left on your main drive and it wont hassle you no more.

I have several HDD's. I have a specific one for installed games. I think it's just the programmer in me seeing something in an application that doesn't belong in the application.

well if i knew where the everquest II reg keys were stored i'd suggest moving your entire install and changing certain keys however EQ2 doesn't seem to use the standard locations like most software does.

I don't think EQ2 uses any registry codes. Seeing as how you can take your whole install, put it on a zip drive, take it to another computer and just go there. Unless they are updating the registry every time you launch the game. But that's just silly.

interesting i didn't think of that. i *suppose* the only keys that it would store are the "add/remove" programs ones otherwise it wouldn't show on the list of applications.

you learn something new every day.

I re-loaded my OS two weeks ago - re-installed the launcher and pointed it to the game, and it worked fine. No game reload or anything downloaded at all. It just detected. At worst - remove the launcher, move the game and re-install the laucher.

But there are other options too...

Let's say it's installed in D:GamesSonyEverquest II

You just move it, create a junction pointing from the above folder to it's new location. On older servers I will do this sometimes if C: is out of space on some folders, if we are really in a bind.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...ernals/bb896768

Alternatively you could increase it's size if it's just a partition. - Google 'GPARTED' for a free disk partitioning ISO that works good.

And one last thing - if you add a new drive, you can mount the drive in a NTFS folder if you desire - format the new 1TB drive - and mount it up under a 'folder' - that works good too. This would make a folder like 'D:Games' - actually a whole hard disk mounted at that point.

Easiest way might be to find an old game you don't play much and just remove it..
