First off, I'm fairly non-technical. I know enough to be dangerous But, I would say I'm smarter than the average bear when it comes to computers.

I have a fairly decent system - here are the hilights

CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i7-2600K 3.40 GHz

FAN: Asetek 550LC Liquid Cooling System 120MM Radiator & FanHDD: 64 GB Kingston 2.5 inch SATA Gaming MLC Solid State DiskHDD2: 1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDDMEMORY: 8GB (2GBx4) DDR3/1600MHz MOTHERBOARD: [CrossFireX] GigaByte GA-P67A-UD3-B3 Intel P67 Chipset DDR3 ATX Mainboard w/ 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, POWERSUPPLY: * 750 Watts - Thermaltake TR2 RX Modular 80 PlusVIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB 16X PCIe Video Card

In addition the computer has some extra fans - I think a total of 4 in various places. I've had this computer since April of this year without issue until recently.

For the past few weeks I've been getting some weird graphic glitches. And it seems different each time - like one time I was seeing sparkly effects where they shouldn't be - sorta copied from one place to another on the screen. Another time I got some shadow flashing. And for the past two days I get blue flashes on certain parts of the screen (like walls of my house will flash blue, but objects will be ok). This usually starts after being in game for a half hour or so - though sometimes it won't happen for an hour. Logging off, waiting a half hour, and coming back seems to fix it for a while.

I've been looking at the heat of the graphic card - gets up to 65-67 (I'm guessing celsius?) My CPU says 24-32...

Any suggestions on how to eliminate the glitches?

"Fairly decent system" my a**. You have a nice system.

In spite of the cooling you have, I suspect heat because of the delay you see before problems start. I've been following a series at Tom's Hardware about cooling issues and I've noticed how 'hot spots'can develop in a system that otherwise has adequate cooling. The temperatures are almost certainly in Celsius, and the numbers are high enough to make heat a serious suspect. Your graphics card is one that is known to run hot and I don't think it's being cooled enough.

Do post your dxdiag info so we can be sure that the problem is not an old driver or some such.

Here ya go - let me know if you need something else.

FYI - I vacummed out my computer - there was a good amount of dust around the fans and on the card. I have only been playing about a half hour and have not had the glitching yet tonight.

------------------

System Information

------------------

Time of this report: 12/16/2011,
My Wife and I have similiar builds as Caela; 560 TI cards, 2600K Core I7's..both PC's were purchased thru IBuyPower.com. My wife's PC will just randomly shut down after 6 or so hours of playing, and continue to do so unless I set the fan to at least 60%. Mine remains stable. Luckily since they are identical, I can monitor both PC's during an extended gaming session.

At 60% fan speed, the GPU's stay around 55 to 59 celsius. I begin to worry when they start spiking in the 60+. I have been able to get the wife's PC more stable by using BIOS power saving settings, but she too experiences some slightly odd graphical errors (One of her characters has a flaming appearance weapon that instead of displaying flames, just shows a bright light. Also, quest NPC"s don't show the hovering Book, etc...but instead show a hazy light over their heads.)

What specific display setting is related to the quest icon graphic over an NPC's head? Also, do you have any tips dealing with "heat pockets" inside of PC's? Is the card just slowly heading to an early grave?

Thanks

Just a follow up on this.... (I feel a little silly...)

I did a good vacumming to the machine - inside and out. And now the temp is running around 26C, and runs much better - no more graphic glitching.

I have other issues (crashing when zoning into S Qeynos and opening up the browser) and not enough room on my SSD drive - but at least the graphics are working again, and as long as I don't zone to SQ or open the browser, I'm good.
