I downloaded all 15 or gb of this game. I am level 9 in the tutorial zone (outpost of the overlord). When I go to the captain and ask to sail to freeport I just get a red "this zone is unavailable" message in chat. I also re-validated my files as well.

Are freemembers locked out of freeport or something?

correct me if I am wrong - but outpost of the overload was removed a long time ago wasn;t it? Not sure what you are playing though. since the game is free to play now just get the new launchpad and go to the regular servers

uh....o...k....

I did get the new launcher. I assumed I connected to a server because I could play...How am I going to a zone and using it when it supposedly doesn't exist? I am so totally confused.

I can believe that. Freeport and Qeynos stopped being starting cities months ago. If you used the new LaunchPad and downloaded the game with that, there is no way you could be on the Outpost. You would have had to pick Neriak or Gorowyn to start in. Do you have an old installation of EQ2 that has not been updated in a long time?

I'm confused, too.

As mentioned before, the outpost has been removed long ago from being a valid starter zone. I guess you created your toons before that time and are just returning due to f2p? In that case it seems just an oversight from the devs when redoing Freeport with the latest patch locking you on the old islands. I would recommend deleting the toons and start over, you are level 9 in no time. Be sure to /bug it in game. /petition would prolly not help for a freebie.

I found the same when checking some really really old accounts that I had and are now "Free to Play"... I have people on both the Outpost of the Overlord and Queen's Colony.

To the OP: if you are silver sub or higher you might be able to ask in channels for a kindly veteren to COV you to Freeport, otherwise I'd roll a new character and start in one of the new - new starter areas.

I have a level 28 toon in the Outpost of the Overlord has something like 64 AA, I log in to him kill a few heroic and epic guards, then camp and maybe hit him again later I want to get 300 (320 now I guess) AA on him before he leaves but that will prob never happen.
