I've read about how the change over to F2P reset everybody's 30 day timer when it comes to being able to gift or see character transfer tokens, and I saw a TSR mention contacting support.

My question is - is support able to transfer characters and just deduct 2500 SC from your account, or are they only able to charge you $24.99 directly to your card? I'm interested in changing servers after the upcoming server mergers, and I'm willing to spend the money. I won't however trust Sony with my replacement card number after they got hacked earlier this year. I'm willing to trust them with money from game cards, so can I just buy 2 of those, have 3000 SC and contact support to move a character by deducting 2500 SC from my account?

I asked the same through a support ticket, but as always with SOE customer support, the answer is bound to be disappointing:

Response Via Email (TSR Arnold G.)

12/13/2011 05:06 PM

Greetings,Thank you for contacting Sony Online Entertainment.Unfortunately there is no exceptions list.Accounts must have 30 days of uninterrupted recurring (not canceled) subscription time pass and be active before being able to see the character transfer token in the marketplace. Unfortunately your account is not eligible at this time. After 30 days of consecutive subscription the token will be available for you in the marketplace. I apologize for the inconvenience.Regards, Arnie G.

Hmm, I wonder if you just have to keep petitioning until you get the right person then? How many times did you try?

On this post TSR-JoshuaM said:

'Our support staff is offering a compromise otherwise but you do have to contact us directly.'

But I wasn't sure if the compromise was just for those that had a credit card on file and were under the 30 days, or if it applied to everybody that can't see the token but is willing to pay the 2500 SC. Arnold G there has to be wrong since he said there were NO exceptions, when JoshuaM has already said there is 'a compromise'. I'm just not sure what the compromise's specifics are, which is what I was hoping to find out here.

Yes, my petition actually quoted TSR-JoshuaM's posting, where he clearly stated that exceptions on this issue are made.

But this guy just copy-pasted some generic text anyway.

Arnie G is our Character Transfer guy and his policies are always subject to change. He's not copy-pasting and the discretionary process does fall on him.

We did offer a compromise at the time of my posting, whether we continue to do so is a policy decision for the CTS department.

As it stands right now, at the time of this post, you do need to wait the 30+ days to be able to see the CTS token. The compromise offered previously was due to the fact that no one could see tokens, eligible or not. We can still extend some help for folks with Station Access/All Access Game Pass as these customers still might not be able to see the tokens even if they are eligible.
