Apprentice recipe is complete, but I can't retrieve it

<p>I mentioned this in the Tradeskill forum and did a /petition on it, but I figured I'd bring it up here so maybe somebody can look into it on the tech side.</p><p>And as a PS--I do use a custom UI, but I removed the files associated with the apprentice and it did not fix the problem.</p><div><p>This bug has happened on several of my characters so far, but one of them was different than the others.</p><p>On Streppoch, when I zoned into the Personal Library where she keeps her Apprentice, there was no "pick up your recipe!" notification like my other toons had been getting.  When I click on the apprentice, it said the recipe was complete, but clicking on the button to retrieve it did nothing; the recipe list was greyed out and the whole thing was locked up.  I backed out of that window, chose the coaching dialogue, and that suddenly freed up my recipe and I could claim it.</p><p>The others are different.  They start out the same as Strep--complete but locked, can't claim the recipe.  But coaching them doesn't do anything.  I then picked up the daily quest and completed that, and even doing THAT doesn't unlock it for me to pick up.</p><p>I've seen similar behavior when researching spells that seem to "auto-complete", because the time + the green bonus time makes them finish earlier.  They instantly complete but they're locked and you can't claim them.</p><p>Edit:  I don't know if this is important information or not, but I have about 15 apprentices in my Personal Library--all of my alts have one, and they're all working.  Interestingly enough, although none of them will talk to me if they're not my apprentice, when I've completed the quest for my own apprentice and return to hand it in, they ALL have quest books over their heads.  I haven't tried to turn one in to an apprentice that's not my own.</p><p>Edit #2:  Okay, this is happening on every character I'm logging in on tonight.  As an experiment, I just picked up an apprentice that wouldn't give me my recipe and took him to another one of my houses where there are no other apprentices.  Didn't make a difference---still locked.  <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/c30b4198e0907b23b8246bdd52aa1c3c.gif" border="0" /></p><p>Also, this has been going on for two days now.  It's very frustrating.</p></div>

<p>This may not be an issue I can help troubleshoot with you.  I'll follow up on a bug report and your petition, however.</p>

<p><cite>TSR-JoshuaM wrote:</cite></p><blockquote><p>This may not be an issue I can help troubleshoot with you.  I'll follow up on a bug report and your petition, however.</p></blockquote><p>Thanks.  That's the main reason I posted it here.  Still waiting to hear back from a CSR--I realise it's the weekend, so I might have to wait a bit.  But I'm glad somebody will be looking at the nuts and bolts of the problem behind the issue.</p><p>I went through every alt I had last night, and I was only able to pick up one recipe out of all of the ones that were completed.  The remaining ones (probably 10 to 12) remained locked.</p>

<p>It's always good to get as much staff eyes on your issue even we can't individually help you with it.  More exposure is always good for reporting issues!</p>

<p>Some more information for you...</p><p>Last night, as an experiment, I camped all the characters that had this problem in the Library where the apprentices are.  Today, I logged them in and they are able to pick up their recipes. </p><p>Not sure what that means...I'll leave that up to you.  <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" /></p>

<p>Okay, some new stuff (hopefully this is helpful and not annoying--lol).  I had toons whose recipes finished while they were parked with their apprentices last night.  When I logged them in today, they couldn't pick up the recipe.</p><p>So, to sum up:</p><p>Recipe completes while toon is not in apprentice's zone - zone in to get it, can't pick it up.</p><p>Recipe is complete - log out in same zone with apprentice, let a day's cycle go by, log in, able to pick up recipe</p><p>Recipe completes while toon is in apprentice's zone - can't pick it up immediately</p><p>So I guess now I need to do two more parts to the experiment - zone in from somewhere else to see if I can pick up the recipe that completed while I was in the zone and let a day's cycle go by.</p><p>Sorry about all this--my husband's a software engineer, so I tend to think in data collection when I do this sort of thing.  <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" /></p>

<p>Okay, I have new information for you!</p><p>In my above post, I mentioned that I had toons whose recipes completed while they were camped in the library zone, where their corresponding apprentices are.  These toons couldn't pick up the completed recipes when they logged in.  So I logged them out in two different places and let a day go by.</p><p>Toons that logged out in my guild hall - zoned into library, could claim their recipes right away with no problems.</p><p>Toons that logged out in Frostfell Wonderland Village - could NOT claim their recipes right away, but *could* claim them after coaching and completing the daily quest</p><p>Again, I have no idea what all this means, but it seems to have *something* to do with the recipes completing and the zone in which my toons log out in relation to where my apprentices are.</p><p>Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you guys out with more data.  <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" /></p>
