Last night I logged into EQII downloaded the new launcher and the expansion and had no trouble getting in game. Now when I try and log in The old launcher opens. It updates and I click play. Then it opens the new launcher and I clcik install. It gets about 80% done and then I get this message

unable to write to Exception: Cannot open file - C:/ProgramData/Sony Online Entertainment/Installed Games/EverQuest II/paks/FXPartShaders.vpk (13) - http://eq2.patch.station.sony.com/p...53af1b5e12c551. The file may be in use or you may lack the necessary permissions to install.

I am running as administrator. I have no proxy LAN settings clicked. I made sure my IE was updated. I have tried re-installing the launcher. I have tried to find my EQII directory but I can't even find it anywhere on my PC. I am running windows 7.

It's frustrating because I played yesterday with the new launcher no problem. WHy all of a sudden it doen't want to work is beyond me. Can anyone help me?

Wow. That link gives a 404 'Not Found' when I click on it, so I'm not sure what it means.

Any shortcuts you were using should have been updated, but all bets are off if they weren't. Does your current shortcut point to LaunchPad.exe in your current EverQuest II Folder?

-= Therendil =-

Yes it does. I have found my directory and am trying right now to move it over from c:/program data folder to C:/users/[admin name] as suggested somewhere else on boards. Will see if that works...

Moved everything to the new location and opened from directory instead of shortcut. It is installing crazy slow now (currently at 2.7%) so I have no idea if it will install past where it got stuck previously and at this rate I won't know for hours....
