installer unable to write

<p>Ok, I guess there is a new installer now. I haven't played for at least a year. </p><p>I used the old launcher, updated game, won't play. I see there is a new one. So I downloaded it, and tried to install to the old eq2 directory</p><p>I get the error message: Due to your account settings, this installer is unable to write to</p><p>xxxxxxxxxxx</p><p>Please select another installation path. </p><p>I went under windows admin and set the entire directory so that it would not be 'read only'. Is there something else I have to do so the launcher update goes into the old directory?</p>

<p>Move the EQII folder out of any protected location like Program Files, PRogram Files (x86), or ProgramData.</p><p>I recommend the UsersPublic folder for Windows Vista7 users or just a custom folder for XP C:EQII as an example.</p><p>Once that's done, re-install our latest Full Assets LaunchPad 4 to that directory.  Just in case you needed it I included the Full Assets link below.</p><p>[EQII] Full Assets - http://launch.soe.com/installer/EQ2_setup.exe</p>

<p>I ended up moving it from the x86 folder to the users public folder and was able to get the game up and running. Thanks</p>
