Bit disappointed that SOE havent used the change to F2P to combine the server lists.

Euro players lose out on potential XP bonus due to having their toons seperated in this way, yet US server players will get combined bonus due to Freeport joining their list.

Then theres the silly point that i need to change the location to US English to gain access to Freeport, then back again to access my other toons.

Oh well, whinge over.

They could have saved themselves a ton of headache by moving Freeport to the English_EU region instead of English_US, same end result of removing EQ2X but less accounts to tweak. I suspect the whole thing is to do with the locations of servers, while Runnyeye server was actually in the US, since the merger of Split and Runney all the EU regions have only had servers based in (I think) Holland, so keeping them separate most likely makes sense.

From a personal point of view, i cant see why there isn't just one list of servers.

Location is irrelevant, just mark down which is in the EU.

I know its a localisation thing, but really, the only servers that really need localisation are different languages.

Also, other games have a tab in the launcher for choosing a region, this would resolve this issue about having to repatch too.

The consolidated server list on making a new char could show ping (with a hottip to tell what it shows), so people can determine which server makes more sense for them.

With the issues I have heard Splitpaw is suffering from, I am currently very happy being euro on Freeport, despite the server location.
