The new "intelligent" Launcher 4 is killing my system. While it runs nothing else runs smoothly any more. The whole system almost freezes. Just some examples:

- It took ~2 minutes to start up MusicBee.- Switching a Tab in Firefox took at least 30s.- Opening a Link in a new Tab took even longer.- Sometimes I even had short loops in the mp3 playback.- Also changing the focus from one application to an other took also at least 30s until it was finished and the new app was fully loaded in the foreground and responded to mouse commands.

It seams like the Launchpad is messing up the E/A very badly.

Also it took ~1 hour to run the initial file scan and as a test I tried to run an other full scan which needed even more time!I could look at the number of files checked as they went up by just a single number most of the time and I had minutes without the number changing at all.

I never had this problem with the Launcher 1 or the Station Launcher. (I tried Launcher 3 (and streaming client) once on Beta and could not even play with it as I had much much worse fps then without it so I stopped trying to use that one.)

So beside loosing out on a lot of useful features, like Char select, friends list and chat the actually function (patching) works abysmal worse for me then with the Station Launcher. Shouldn't an update work the other way around?

There are some nuances that need to be worked out but it does not behave this way for a majority of customers. We need your DXDIAG/MSINFO files in a ticket so we can work towards identifying what exactly isn't playing nice on your system. This has to be handled case by case.

My ticket is submitted. I hope SOE can help. My patience is growing very thin with SOE.

ping = 65 ms

download speed = .27 mbps

upload speed = .54 mbps

Thank you for finding my ticket. However, my speed test is not all that concerns me here. It is also the fact that I received the streaming client as a default without the ability to toggle to the full download, as the knowledgebase indicated (not that the toggle matters, other than missleading users). I wonder very much about this because both people I know who were in Beta said the exact same problem happened to them. I wish I could analyze my computer and your software like a pro, but I can't, and I don't think you can help me much more since I am a severe minority here, either by way of speed test or luck or knowledge or whatever.

I'll leave my computer on overnight to upload maybe 10% of your client per night. I should be in game in a week - tremendous. Every other electronic pre-order that I've made using this same ISP has taken hours, this is taking over a week it seems.

I don't want compensation for my poor speedtest, I want compensation for defaulting to streaming and the fact that the streaming client downloaded 10x faster than the full for no reason - other than perhaps I burnt my monthly alotment of download at the fastest speed perhaps - who knows. Whatever it is, this brand new computer has never operated worse (even when using things offline) than when LP4 is running - this is not explainable by a speedtest, surely - since I`m sure my computer is not being taxed by my any super fast upload speed. It is being taxed by LP4.

Theres not gonna be any direct compensation unless our community management decides to extend it to everyone which they have not done.

It's getting even slower. I got a whopping 5% downloaded all last night, while I slept. Now I'm at 40%. Maybe this will take 2 weeks to download.

Those numbers don't look like any reasonable connection speed. Have you had a conversation with your service provider about those numbers?

As was stated TSR-JoshuaM, you're connection speeds are borked hardcore. I'm running 4 computers simultaniously and this is my speed test from testmy.net

:::..
Thank you for the feedback about my terrible ISP. I have phoned them and my speed is about 1/6th what it should be. They have doubled my speed right away, and by morning I'm told it will be even better. This explains what I am experiencing today.

I'm still peeved at how this all happened. My computer, by default, downloads streaming client at normal speed and end up with 3 LPs, then 1 day later I remove all of them and try to get the full download and voila - my speed is toast. Nothing changed between these two downloads in my physical or software setup. I also don't understand how my computer slows to a 486 for offline applications whenever LP4 is running and downloading.

Other than my account and SOE being hacked in the spring - defaulting to streaming client with 3 LPs installed has been the most unpleasant experience with EQ2. I really hope this never happens again. I have seemless software installs that default to the correct state all the time on my work computer network.
