I have a gold account and purchased 5 character slots that are all full. 5 on one server 6 on another. First time I logged in after the update went live only 5 characters were listed. I exited went back to launcher and logged in again but the same 5 were there. I closed the launcher went back in and still only the 5 characters. So I went to advance tool and selected validate files. It went through the check but didnt update any files. Logged in again and all my characters were there. I lost connection, not sure why. Logged back in to character select now the 5 from the one server are gone and I only see the 6 from the other server. I did the same as last time and they all show up again. Not sure whats going on. But I dont like having to wait 10 mins each time just to validate files to see all my characters.

Which ones are disappearing? Everfrost or Crushbone or does it seem like a mix? (Looking in to the server status now as well)

All the crushbone were there the first time but not everfrost. The next time it was all everfrost but not crushbone. Could be like you said. But I didnt get any notification that the log in server was busy or not responding so I wouldnt know.
