????

Why would I I move the EQ Program files to a network shared folder?

I'm running Win & 64 bit and have UAC turned off - I run all as Admin.

Also - the file in question never downloads - it is not there to delete.

I tried turning off my AV and Firewall.

I also moved all pack files out of the folder to download them all - the app always chokes on this one file.

OK - I moved the folder from Program Files (x86) to the Pub/Users location as you suggested

Firewall and AV OFF.

I still get the same problem.

The bad stream error is concerning. Theres nothing wrong with it on our end as people are getting right past that with no issues by the thousands...

Go ahead and contact our support staff directly. Include your DXDIAG/MSINFO files so we can review what you have running on the system.

A few things you can check in the meantime are as follows. I recommend testing these 1 at a time so we can tell for sure what fixes it if you can then get in game.

Ensure you have full write permissions, or ownership, over your EQII folder. You may think you do but its worth at least double checking.

Disable any proxy you may have setup. Click Start> Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections Tab > LAN Settings > Uncheck anything under Proxy Server.

And finally bypass any router you may be using. If you are wireless, hardwire directly in to your modem and stick to a wired connection while we test it.

Yes. Functioning just fine for tens of thousands externally and internally.

As you may notice in the chain of events in this thread, I asked you to move the folder to avoid any permission issue. This is without knowledge of you running it as admin or not. Just covering the basic steps first.

From here, go ahead and contact our support staff directly. Submit your DXDIAG/MSINFO files and we'll review. Not much more I can look in to here without more information.

You can post your incident number here as well.

Thank you for your help so far. I'll try a few more things before sitting on the phone.

Here's what I also tried.

I installed a fresh launcher to a new location then proceeded to download.

Every so often, it would choke on 'some file'

I copied the file it choked on from the old location to the new and continued until it choked again.

This happened 6 or 7 times.

When it got to the paks/fprt_west_SG.vpk it choked again.

Since I never was able to get that file downloaded on the original location, I can't copy it over.

Since this file appears related to the 'new' Freeport, perhaps dev should take another look at ??? something ??

Since someone else reports the issus, I'm surprised that there haven't been more reports as such.

Thanks again.

Found the problem.

I disabled Kaspersky's Anti-Banner feature in order for the download to complete.

As a workaround to fully disabling Kaspersky Anti-Banner, you can go into anti-banner settings and under "use the list of allowed url's", you can add *eq2.patch.station.sony.com* (with the asterisks.)
