<p>I've run the game through Station Launcher as always, and as advertised when launching it updates to the new game launcher. However when I click play on the new launcher, the button turns to PLAYING but no game is launched. Previously this problem was solved by running Station Launcher as admin. I am still doing that but I don't know how I can run the new launcher as admin since I have to start with an old launcher that leads to it.</p><p>Any thoughts as to what I should do?</p>

<p>Which version of Station Launcher are you using? If it is version 1.0.9, you will need to manually install the new LaunchPad into your game directory.</p><p>It *should* be launching the LaunchPad.exe (which is LP4) in the game directory.</p><p>-dan</p>

<p>I'm using version 1.1.13 of Station Launcher according to the 'About Station Launcher' tab when I opened the program. As far as I know that program is up to date.</p><p>I tried moving my EQ2 File folder to the 'Public' location as suggested and I got this message: This action can't be permitted because the folder is open in another program. I have NO Everquest 2, SOE, or related programs running at the time.</p>

Check your task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL, click Task Manager), click the processes tab and see if you can find Everquest2.exe, LaunchPad.exe, or EQ2.exe</p><p>As Dan stated above, the best course of action here is to manually install LP4 on top of your existing EQII folder.</p>

<p>Also, every time I close and reopen Station Launcher to get to LP4, it updates again. It's as if the updates its applying aren't sticking.</p><p>You're correct, when I look under Task Manager, Everquest2.exe (the game client) is shown to be 'running'. Problem is I can't actually play if it's just running somewhere in the background and it's not launching properly, you know?</p><p>I'll try manually installing LP4 as suggested.</p>

<p>Manually installing LP4 is proving to be quite a headache. I had to go to a fan site simply to find the link for it in the first place, as well as the link for the poorly written tutorial. Despite following the steps on said tutorial very carefully, all attempts to download thew new launcher have led to the game trying to install itself from scratch completely. I do not have several hours to kill and was hoping to be able to play today, since I already have the game installed and this transition was reported to be 'seamless'.</p>

Those have been up since LP4 went live.</p><p>If you are using Station Launcher or an older patch method, you want the Full ASsets installer. When installing LaunchPad 4, select the Install a New Copy option and direct it to your existing EQII game folder. You wont have to redownload the game.</p>

It will probably ask you if you want to install another copy, repair or remove. For this task, choose "install another copy"</li><li>Carefully choose the location that you already had the game installed - make sure it is the one where everquest2.exe is located</li><li>Finish the installer</li></ol><div>That should update your game directory with a new LaunchPad.exe file, capable of updating *that particular* game location.</div></p><p>-dan</p>

<p>Thanks for your help both of you. I'm just irritated because I knew this was going to happen.</p><p>I've already attempted both of those courses of action to no avail.</p><p>I've removed the game completely and am re-installing from scratch. I'll hopefully be able to play at some point later this week.</p>

Getting this same issue actually, the 'everquest2.exe' that shows up in the system processes is sucks about 60,536kb and after afking a while it randomly launched like. An hour later, I also find it impossible to actually 'end' the everquest2.exe in the processes tab. Its baffling, I tried your step above also.

We need your DXDIAG/MSINFO files.</p>

<p>I am also having this issue on this computer. My ticket number 111208-000315 has been submitted. The technician is using the excuse that it is this PCs video chipset, but it has run EverQuest 2 just fine. It more than exceeds the requirements to run this program:</p><table ><tbody></tbody><thead><tr><th > </th> <th > </th> <th > Required </th> <th > You Have </th></tr> </thead> <tbody><tr ><td><img src="http://d1ylr6sba64qi3.cloudfront.net/cyri/assets/images_/green_checkmark_small.gif" /></td> <td>Video RAM</td> <td>64 MB</td> <td >1.2 GB</td></tr> <tr ><td><img src="http://d1ylr6sba64qi3.cloudfront.net/cyri/assets/images_/green_checkmark_small.gif" /></td> <td>3D</td> <td>Yes</td> <td >Yes</td></tr> <tr ><td><img src="http://d1ylr6sba64qi3.cloudfront.net/cyri/assets/images_/green_checkmark_small.gif" /></td> <td>Hardware T&L</td> <td>Yes</td> <td >Yes</td></tr> <tr ><td><img src="http://d1ylr6sba64qi3.cloudfront.net/cyri/assets/images_/green_checkmark_small.gif" /></td> <td>Pixel Shader version</td> <td>1.0</td> <td >4.0</td></tr> <tr ><td><img src="http://d1ylr6sba64qi3.cloudfront.net/cyri/assets/images_/green_checkmark_small.gif" /></td> <td>Vertex Shader version</td> <td>1.0</td> <td >4.0</td></tr></tbody></table><p>Above is from systemrequirementslab.com . I have run on Balanced and even higher settings on this computer. While it has an Intel Video Chipset, it is fully capable of running a two or three generations old program.</p>
