Since the release of LP4 i am unable to patch or logon to the game due to the launcher crashing each time i run it.

At fist it gave no error message, no logfiles or no help what so ever but after decsiding to do a clean install into a different folder on the computer i was finaly given this log:

[1207/192528:WARNING:file_util_win.cc(572)] Failed to create directory C:UsersJᅢᄊrgenAppDataLocalLow, le=5[1207/192528:ERROR:WebCoreImpl.cpp(317)] Error while parsing config paths, could not create the following directory: C:UsersJᅢᄊrgenAppDataLocalLowSony Online EntertainmentLaunchPad.cache[1207/192528:ERROR:WebCoreImpl.cpp(327)] Error while parsing config paths, the following directory is not writeable by the current user: C:UsersJᅢᄊrgenAppDataLocalLowSony Online EntertainmentLaunchPad.cache[1207/192528:WARNING:file_util_win.cc(572)] Failed to create directory C:UsersJᅢᄊrgenAppDataLocalLow, le=5[1207/192528:FATAL:WebCoreImpl.cpp(775)] Check failed: PathService::Override(chrome:IR_USER_DATA, user_data_dir).

Any ideas why it refuses to let me patch, install or play the game?

Looking at the log entries you've posted, you are getting a fundamental permission failure trying to write to your hard disk. Based on the location, there seems to be something messed up in your Windows account.

I would open the C:Users folder and make sure that the security permissions for your home folder ("Jᅢᄊrgen") is owned and writable by your account.

-dan

You can use this walkthrough on how to navigate the file permissions and ownership.

http://bit.ly/uPMAyN

But it seems like the new shiny patcher doesnt speak swedish so it created a new user called "Jᅢᄊrgen" whitch ofc the user "Jörgen" doesnt have write permission for. If i changed the permissions for the new user "Jᅢᄊrgen" so that "Jörgen" have full admin persmissions it starts the Patcher seems to work... (It didn't ofc create a user account, only a folder in the c:users folder)

Edit:Thanks for the link Joshua, i hope it will come in handy for other people with localized OS's.... A better solution is ofc to send the patcher on a foregin language course

We do support many languages, including Japanese, Chinese and Cyrillic. I'll have the testers specifically look for nordic language issues.

-dan
