Question about recurring/non recurring subscriptions

<p>I pay monthly for my subs via the SOE gamecard, so long as I input my gamecard code before my current one expires, is that sufficient enough to have what is called a recurring subscription, therefore making me a gold member?</p><p>Or does the payment need to be made by debit card which is then held on file ready to be charged for the following month.  I wish to be a gold member but not sure if my current payment method is sufficient to cover the recurring monthly condition.</p><p>Apologies if this has been asked or answered elsewhere, there is so much information on the forums these past couple of weeks, I feel like I can't see the wood for the trees <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

I cannot afford to have my finances borked this month. Strict budget, limited income. etc.</p>

<p>You can be a "Gold member" with game cards, just not a recurring one.</p>

<p>You can use the game cards and you'll be a gold member until the last day covered by the last card. When that runs out, your gold membership will be suspended, so you won't be able to do anything requiring gold (like scribing a new master spell) but you won't lose anything you got while the subscription was gold (your master spells won't drop to adepts). Then when your finances are back in synch and you apply another game card, your sub will again go back to gold.</p><p>The thing about needing to have some payment card against which a future charge can be made is to have an account "in good standing".</p><p>Keeping it simple isn't one of SOE's strengths.</p>

I assumed that was what they were after. If it was just to be a gold member, yes they can do that with game cards, but cant be Recurring.</p>

Joy!</p></blockquote><p>Unless they changed things, it'll be placed behind your currently existing time.  I did that once.  Paid for a monthly game time card then put my credit card on there a few days later.  They let my time run out then started payment from the card.  Hope that helps some.</p>

<p>LOL I get it now, I was more bothered about earning the 500sc, loads stuff to buy.</p><p>Thankfully I get me a debit card so I'll stick it on next month and wahey all will be sorted. I think I pretty much answered my own question in my original post, but just needed my understanding clarified. </p><p>So in order to get 500sc ya need a debit card on your account to pay your sub with, game cards don't work <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />, still at least I don't lose my alts, thank the lords for that lol.</p>

I can't even put a card on there right now, much less a key for AoD because the billing site is down.</p><p>I'll see if I can't get an official answer out of billing in the meantime.
