I'm trying to install the new launcher manually as detailed in other posts. I select my existing game folder which is in my case is C:Program Files (x86)SonyEverQuest II. The installer prompts me that my launcher will be converted to a new one so I choose to continue. After clicking ok I get an error message that I don't have enough hard drive space in that volume as Everquest 2 requires 15GB and I only have 3GB.

While this is true I do only have 3 GB of drive space, my existing installation in the existing folder I chose above C:Program Files (x86)SonyEverQuest II is taking up 14.1 GB already therefore I really don't need 15GB of space. I only need to install the delta between what I had yesterday (which worked) and what I need for the updates. This seems like a bug with the installer disk space check.

The only option I believe I have is to delete all 14.1 GB of data by uninstalling the game and then reinstalling it requiring me to download 15 GB!

Is there a work-around for this issue or a possible patch to fix the installer?

From what I've read, downloading the game from scratch seems to be happening to everyone.

Apparently we haven't followed the "update your launcher" instructions precisely that "appear on too many threads here to mention" and not properly installed their new and "improved" launcher system.

The issue concerning a bogus drive space error has been reported and is being looked into. Check this thread.

I'm also getting a sense that this launch is a really good time to reinstall EQ2 from scratch if you have not done so in a while.

-= Therendil =-

On the bright side, streaming to get into new instances will no longer be an issue for me. It didn't take long but was annoying.

Thats about 13GB of the game data right there. If you can get that cleared off, you can install the update, then put the PAKS folder back.
