Dear "Shop Now" button

<p>So where is this shop now button of which you speak? How big? Where is it placed? Are you a subscriber or a freebie?</p>

<p>It is at the bottom of the character select screen. I am a long-term sub of multiple accounts and not a freeper. I am mostly poking fun as it is not intrusive, but it is noticeable.</p>

<p>The one on the Character Select screen has been there for years.   If it bothers you now, after the game has gone fully F2P, then maybe you should have complained back when RMT was sneaking it's way into the game?</p><p>I can;t wait to see the pop up adds (/shudder)  Even though i have had an EQ2x account for a while (for the betas)  I have never logged into Freeport. <span style="color: #ffff99;"> *insults are not permitted on these forums*</span></p>

<p>Yeah pop-up ads will be on us soon for sure, and the paying customers will have to endure them until they get through adding then fixing any problems with countless barbie dreamhouse items to the SC shop, they will play it off like it is some great technical leap that it would take for them to determine if you are subbed or not.</p><p>One thing that I absolutely am going to hate is if the game pops me up to a web browser when I close it, which currently says the site is being upgraded, but will probably be asking me to subscribe.</p><p>SOE you should not go the route of launching ANY app on my computer that I have not authorized you to.</p>

It's been there for a long while now on live and it allowed you to purchase an expansion, or character slot tokens.</p>

However, by logging in with a free or silver account, you are in essence authorizing them to start the browser. It's basically one of the conditions of being able to play at that sub level.</p><p>Annoying, yes, and I railed hard against it when EQ2X started, but unlikely to change now if it hasn't already.</p>

But yeah, it has been like this forever on EQ2X, and does go away with a sub. It just seems that today nobody has a sub.</p>
