Crossover & LP4

<p>Heya, folks! I've been running EQ2 on my MacBook Pro for a long time via Bootcamp on a Windows partition. My Windows partition has errors so I thought I'd try Crossover. To my surprise it's been running via Crossover almost as well as in Windows itself!</p><p>The bad news, though, is that I can't get it to work with LP4, despite trying multiple things. I tried blowing away the EQII install and reinstalling, reinstalling Crossover with the latest version, installing in a different location, and searching for support via the web and the forums here, all to no avail.</p><p>No matter what I get the same effect: it shows the Age of Discovery image and closes automatically a few seconds later. Is there anything I can do to get Crossover to work again? Thank you for any advice you can offer!</p>

<p>Figured out the problem after much digging: the new updater is only Windows 7, which isn't supported by Crossover.</p><p>If you ask me, not supporting XP anymore is BS, and not just for people who run through emulators <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>Heya, Dan! Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. Also I'm surprised to hear that XP works; the other info I found said it wouldn't. Crossover emulates Windows XP in OSX (Snow Leopard.)</p><p>I've already mentioned everything I know in my post above, what other kind of info are you looking for?</p>

<p>Where is it failing?  After the small splash screen in the installer or does it get to the LaunchPad?</p><p>I'm not familiar with Crossover.  Is it a virtual desktop like VMware or Fusion?  Or is it a application environment like WINE?</p><p>-dan</p>
