Friday 12.02.11 I logged in using my normal lauch pad and it upgraded to a new launch pad. I played EQ2 for a short while then logged out of the game.

Today, Saturday 12.03.11 I just logged in but never was asked for a password. The new launch pad opened up and it said "play" then I was in the game.

It was so easy. I presume all the passwords are encoded. I like this automatic log on.

Auto Login is one of the features I liked best about Station Launcher, and the fact that LP4 supports this is one big reason I accept LP4.

That said, it does pose security issues if other people (drunken roommates, angry spouses, etc.) have access to your system. That's a good time to turn it off. I count myself extemely lucky that I do not have any such issues and can use Auto Login safely.

-= Therendil =-

Thanks for the response. So I presume it's automatic and I never need to change passwords or use the authenticator? Doesn't really sound safe to me.

I assume if my characters get hacked or stolen or what ever, that SoE will replace everything.

It's a shame one doesn't have a choice. I wonder if I can get my money back on the authenticator I don't have to use?

Thanks for the clarification.

You must have got it in the first version where we had it on. If you don't want your password saved just select the LOG OUT option, then relog back in with the save box unchecked. Your password is now unsaved. (note: You will still open up directly to the patching / PLAY panel of the launchpad after successive launches, since you have already accepted the EULA. You will be prompted to log in once you click PLAY).

For once they listen to us and bring into this launcher what I like from Station launcher : save password and easy switch between account. The switch is so fast that I don't regret at all the Station launcher anymore.

Good work !

The box is unchecked by default, yes, but it is still logging me in without me having to enter a password.

I never allow any application to bypass passwords so please tell me how to get the new laucher to demand my password every time I open it.

I just tested it again and yeah it lets me hit PLAY and go right in without entering my credentials again, box unchecked.

Your password will not be saved.

On successive launches, you will bypass the login screen but not be logged in. The game can patch and update before you authenticate if you have accepted the EULA previously. When you try to click PLAY however you will be taken to the Login screen to enter your credentials.

We will get this resolved quickly.
