View Full Version : New Launcher wants to do full update

I am using an older launcher called EQ2launcher version 1.0.0.1 so decided to try the newest one which is LaunchPad version 3.0.0.300. I have read several places in this forum that if I install the new launchpad over my existing version of EQ2 then would not have to load all the game over again. So downloaded the new version and installed in location C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II, which is where my existing folder is. After launch it says it wants to download 13GB of 13.1GB. So I saved .1 of a GB? Thought maybe it would go fast but let it download for a bit and got up to 125 MB and not even see any bar. I still see old launcher and it still works and it is fully patched. What did I do wrong? The new LaunchPad location is C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest IILaunchPad.exe.

If you right-click is an select Open File Location does it take you to C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II ?

Yes still have the old launcher icon and it does work. When right click it the target location is C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest IIEQ2.exe. On new LaunchPad I tried the scan under options and hard drive worked for several minutes and then started downloading 13GB again. Also under options on new LaunchPad is "Open Game Folder" which takes me right to my existing Everquest 2 folder. I see the hugh PACS folder which has the bulk of the original download in it.

Well I left it downloading overnight and in morning it was done. Not sure of the amount it actually download but doubt with my connection downloaded 13 GB in one night.

That can take a while as it checks every file. Perhaps this is what was going on. I'll see if I can find anything out though, it shouldn't have downloaded anything you already had intact.
