Hi.

I have tried to find a solution to this problem many places, but I cannot find one, that solves my problem.

I have just build a new PC with Windows7 Ultimate 64bit, and installed EQ2 Streaming.

But it keeps telling me to install Adobe Flash, and I have done so a tons of times time, and unstilling EQ2 and Adobe again and again.

What do I need to do, to fix this issue?

The Adobe automatically installs the 64bit or 32bit acording to my browser.

I did have Mozilla to begin with, but I have uninstalled it npw, and are only running IE8, where Adobe is installed as an add-on.

/Martin

Same problem here. Try to load and the launchpad tells me I need to install flash. But the "install flash" button does nothing (I hear a click when pressing the reload or close buttons).

I'm getting into the game using the pre-Velious updater, but that requires disabling the authenticator on my account.

It will prompt you to install Flash every time.

Now, once you get passed that part, what happens when you launch the LaunchPad?

Nothing, because it won't believe Flash is installed and won't try to install it itself. I even went to the Adobe site and dl'd/installed it manually. But the launcher gives me a box asking if I want to install flash. I pick no, and it closes. I pick yes, it says "Waiting for Flash Player Installation Please waith for the Flash Player installation to finish, then retry loading the LaunchPad."

Under this are three buttons. "Reload LaunchPad" clicks when I press it, the LaunchPad flickers, and then goes right back to the same screen. "Get Adobe Flash" does nothing, not even a click. "Close LaunchPad" closes the launch pad.

edit: A friend suggested I install Flash from IE and that seems to have done it. 'course the OP said he/she's only using IE, hope you can help him/her!

When I get passed that part?

I get the launch pad, BUT

Never connects to the server! I MEAN NEVER! (tried this on a second PC and same)

Now what?

If I install a trial, it 'works' but can't get to the real server cluster, I have been stuck for over a week.

This all started just trying to log back in on a full working DoV install.

and yes....

I wiped out my Adobe Flash installs, reinstalled an old 10.2 I had, didn't work with it or a redo of 11 downloaded through IE 8.0. (I even made IE the default browser after deleting all flash, that version install, still no help, LP can't connect!!)

I wiped EQ2 entirely also to redo the install, thinking at first something on my end maybe corrupted, only to of course now know that is was SoE messing the LP up just before Thanksgiving break.

7 Ultimate 64-bit user that just wants it FIXED please and no it's not my firewall software, it's YOUR silly Lauch pad app!

*note I am looking at the launchpad forum now, and I have verified that it can go to all the needed ports with the testing ports app, besides it worked with a trial installer, but that does not work for real game install, very bizarre bug.

In summary: It's the connecting to the network piece that is screwed up for me, the 'launcher' is technically working.

Streaming 4.4 meg and Full 4.4 meg size installers did the above....

*I finally located my DoV install DVDs and installed it, SAME THING, flash install crash, LP loads fine, can't reach server.

I recommend firing your Q&A dept, if you even have one, which I am starting to lean to the doubt it.

*yes, officially angry now!

Tried new launcher install, same thing.

my launchpad.ini entries:

[Settings]webapp=http://launchpad.patch.station.sony.com/lp3/index.htmldigestURL=http://manifest.patch.station.sony.com/patch/manifest/launchpad/launchpad-all/lp3-eq2-full.soeskin=LaunchPad.pngappSize=664,630appOffset =52,30appSkin=eq2appName=EverQuest IIappIcon=EQII.icocurtainColor=#000000game=eq2-full

I cleared first 2 lines, tries to correct, didn't like FP (one is loaded again), run again, LP loads, but still can't connect.

I stand by my Q&A, what Q&A?

SoE embarrassment #? (lost track)

I even wiped ALL my related firewall settings after rebooting router and cable modem, no help.

Not sure why you piggy backed on this thread if your issue isn't "Launcher keeps asking for Flash Player"

Seems like you have a separate connectivity issue. If it were a global issue, no one would be able to log in with our LP3.

As such, we must identify why you are unable to connect. Based on the LaunchPad.ini contents you posted it looks like you are using our latest full download version so let's continue with other steps.

What is the exact error message you receive and where do you receive it? Does it occur as soon as you click play or does it occur at character select? This will help pinpoint where in the process it is failing so we have something to look in to. We also have a network test you can run as well.

From here, I would like you to open a support ticket, answer the questions above, and include your network test. We'll continue on that ticket as this thread is for an issue that you are not experiencing. You can PM me your incident number so I can pick it up and begin looking in to the information you submit. To be pro-active, feel free to include your DXDIAG/MSINFO as well so we can review the system and any running services/modules/applications.

Here's the network test.

I need you to bring up a run dialog box. You can do this by pressing and holding the Windows key on your keyboard and tapping the R key.

In the box that pops up I need you to type cmd and press Enter (If you're using Windows Vista/7 press ctrl-shift-enter).

This is going to bring up an old “DOS box” don’t worry it’s just text.

You’ll need to type in the following commands one at a time. Remember to put spaces between all the words, unless there’s a special character like / or . in front of the word. Then you’ll want to keep that symbol and the word together.

If you’re having a lot of trouble you can also just copy and paste the text out of this email and into the DOS box.

These commands can take a while to run so please wait for the blinking cursor to appear since you won’t see any output to your screen. For the pathping commands you might even want to go grab some coffee, or a sandwich between lines.

So, all set? Here’s the commands:

ipconfig /all > c:eq2info.txt

tracert "your server".everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt

(for example: unrest.everquest2.com, antoniabayle.everquest2.com or

freeport.everquest2.com)

pathping "your server".everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt

(for example: unrest.everquest2.com, antoniabayle.everquest2.com or

freeport.everquest2.com)

If you’re curious what you’re saving for us, try the commands again but without the >’s or the stuff after them. Go ahead, I’ll wait… Pretty confusing huh? Don’t worry I speak gibberish fluently and can translate it for you.

Ok now that you’re done with that, you’ll have a file on your hard drive called “eq2info.txt”. If you go into your hard drive you’ll find it right in the main folder. To get there, just do that Windows key and R trick from earlier, and type C: and press enter. The file will be in there. Just send that file into me, I’ll translate it and figure out what happened to your connection, then I’ll let you know. No worries it’ll be pretty painless, but we might need you to contact another company if it’s not something on your computer that’s doing this.

Hi Joshua, it was asking for FLASH a bunch of times, I solved that piece, meanwhile I was so busy getting caught up in other threads and NOTHING helped me, but my problem was looking not uncommon, so I waited for Monday and staff actually in to do LIVE CHAT.

Anyhow, I just got the fix:

Go into IE, Internet Options, Advanced Tab:

Five checkboxes below Security is Check for publisher's certificate revocation, uncheck that.

3 more down, uncheck the checkbox for Do not save encrypted files to disk.

Hit APPLY, OK, and restart launchpad, and IN LIKE FLYNN.

Have a nice day!

and note to Josh, I never got past the Launchpad..... never connects to the server WAS the problem.

Live Chat tech said he still has it no log him in every 3 tries, so SoE has some back end work to do.

I am currently doing 2 gigs worth of updates, so I know I got connected... and now back in the game.

That was your problem. Its not a connectivity issue, its the inability for our launchpad to read data that you do not allow to be saved to disk.
