<p><span ><p>I posted this a few weeks ago under the peformance support section was was told that thread only covered support and not the development news. So im posting here again and "hoping" to elicit a dev response, emphasis is on the hope part.</p><p>Just out of curiousity, is SOE even working on this anymore? I would really like SOE spokesman to deliver a<strong> final verdict</strong> on this.</p><p>Or is this just another one of those things in the game which requires time and resources which SOE would rather not carry on with?</p><p>So much was said about it during the video presentation shown way back and the poor solo dev who was working on it tirelessly for months, now nowhere to be seen. I was looking forward to it but as soon as it went live it was clear that it was far from finished. The performance gains promised are nowhere to be seen but rather it is a performance hit.</p><p>S3.0 should be entirely scrapped if it is never going to be completed.</p><p>It is all good that you are revamping freeport but what is the point when you cannot crank everything up on a latest rig and have playable frame rates?</p><p>P.S. i would gladly fork out a premium price for an expansion aimed at just fixing the technical bugs and improving the graphics of the game.</p></span></p>

<p>I've given up on Shader 3.0. It looks good, and they seem to have solved most of the major graphics glitches. There's still a number of issues, but nothing game-breaking (I can live with occasional moire patterns in the skybox, for instance). What kills it for me is the performance. I've got a 1Gb nVidia GTX 460 graphics card, and texture loads or something is painfully slow with S3.0. I can deal with the stuttering and movement freezes in solo play as new display elements are loaded, but in raids I can't afford that and I don't want to have to keep shutting down and restarting the game to switch between normal and raid settings.</p>

Among others :</p><p>- Zek Orcish Wastes : as soon as I enter the zone, textures start messing up until all textures in the zone are messed up. That bug only happens in Zek with S3.0 on and once you got it, it follows you in any zone you go to. Have to logout and login again to get rid of it.</p><p>- More problematic : stuff not appearing with Shaders 3.0. Sometimes, it's just objects but more problematic... the ground !</p><p>With S3.0 enabled, I can't see the ground (really, it's invisible, I see "through" it) in the entire Bonemire zone, in Veeshan's Peak and another zone but i forgot which one.</p><p>So, yeah, gamebreaking !</p>
