Been gone a while. Fairly new stat rules. As I understand it from reading all that I can find, with the changes that occurred earlier this year, only two stats help any character any more.

Examples: Any priest class - only Wisdom and Stamina, Any fighter class - only Strength and Stamina etc.

If this is true, then why show all five stats for every character? The other stats have no effect now, right?

The reason I ask this to get full understanding - I played a Fury a lot, who tanked a lot - even in a group, and I built up Strength and other characteristics to help with that effort. I built up AA to help too.

Now I don't know what to do with that same character any more. What do I need to do in this new rule structure?

My other characters have similar concerns - the way I wanted to play them, I almost always wanted other stats built up too - now what?

Any thoughts, help would be greatly appreciated!!!

A fury needs only wisdom and stamina. Strength, intelligence and agility do absolutely nothing for a fury. All your damage, mana, heals, health, everything are related to your wis and sta. I guess they still show the other stats on your character screen because it's like a template for all the class screens. But if you mouse over str, int, and agi it will tell you, "this stat has nothing to do with your class". You should read some guides on this forum, maybe on some other sites for aa tree choices. My fury is my seamstress, I have no idea how to play one.

Well, stamina as always helps with your health.

The biggest difference now is that you don't need int for spell damage, str for melee damage, agility for avoidance and wisdom for your power pool. Wisdom is all the damage of all kinds for priests now, for better or worse and the only thing you can do to help with avoidance is buffs, blue stats and adornments.

Can't say as I ever dealt much with a tanking fury (tanking warlocks & various scouts even an illusionist here recently, but not fury). I certainly never did it on purpose with mine =) so not sure what else to tell you.

The consolidation of damage stats (ie str being the damage stat for melee and spell damage for tanks, int being spell and melee damage for mages, etc) happened with the Sentinal's Fate expansion. DoV is the expansion that made all stats except your damage stat and stamina worthless. Before that, wisdom helped everybody's spell resists, agility helped everybody's avoidance, strength added to everybody's carrying capacity, etc.. in addition to whatever else the stats did the various archtypes.

At 3000 wisdom you get 300 mod.

Primary stat increases your *damage*, but it does *not* increase your healing. This is incredibly easy to see in game, it's baffling that people still want to believe that it matters.

*Yes*! There are a few buffs (typically Mythical) that allow some healing classes to convert a part of their Wisdom score into added healing, but that is not a mechanical feature of the game. That's a mechanical feature of that buff.

Strength has NEVER helped a fury tank.

It only increased melee dps prior and allows you to carry more weight which was meaningless anyway.

You are a fury why would you care about melee dps to tank you should of been increasing your intelligence back then. You would of gotten more dps since your melee dps was still aweful even with strength.
