I have 8 months to go for the recently annouced vet year reward. My friend needs 4 years.

Let us be able to spend Station Cash to buy Vet Time. This would be a GREAT idea!!! Us players could get the vet time we want and SoE could increase their profits.

Sounds like a WIN WIN FOLKS!

It never fails to amaze me how many live players rank on the Extended service, then post all the things they want to pay real-life money for in lieu of waiting/working for in-game that they wish would be added to live's SC options.

Hahahaha!

Carry on.

You CAN use your money to buy vet time...

Just keep paying that sub.

The whole purpose of the system is to reward players for their loyalty, not how much cash they have.

Sounds like Extended, where you can "pay to win" and get in game perks (which is what vet rewards are) based on the size of your wallet, might be a better fit for ya.

if you buy a year in advance it will give you the years credit towards the vet reward with the purchace.

Yep...there are some live players that want to buy random things and they sometimes bring those ideas to the forums. No...that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the people who dislike extended. I realize you have a live account since you're posting here, but with how much time you waste praising all things extended, why don't you just go play, or discuss the issues on your own forums?

Not that I'm doubting you personally, but is this in 'official' SOE print somewhere? I'm interested in taking advantage of it, but want to know for sure first.

The only Vet reward that's actually unique and worthwhile is Call of the Veteran (when it works). Everything else can be attained via other means (prestige housing, Redemption of Failure rez signets, exp/vitality potions, etc.) If you want the benefits of being a veteran, you can get most of them already. We old fogies have earned our perks.

sounds like a way to kill off any incentive to even have a "vet reward".

buying anything that would boost your time, isnt a thing that should earn you anything related to "vet".

people have been here years to earn these items - just cause you want them, doesnt mean they should just be handed out for no reason.

I myself have 3-4 years to get the higher end stuff, and I am gonna do what everyone else had to do, wait till my time comes to /claim the items.

You know, flame away, but I wouldn't mind a way to get in on the CoV action.

I was playing EQ1 in the fall of '99, and played it until the original Velious launch, when the computer I had then couldn't handle the engine upgrade. I had to leave it behind; time, computer upgrades, a few other games intervened between then and now. Just a little over a year ago I came back to EQ(2). I've been quite enjoying it.

There's not a single Veteran reward I really, really want except for CoV. (Yes, yes, When it works.)

I was kind of excited when I saw the whole idea of being able to save up for Vet rewards and choose the ones I want to have. I wouldn't mind seeing some Dev updates on that.

If they made CoV something Station Cash purchasable, I would a) be very interested in it, depending on the price, and b) be sympathetic towards the people who didn't think people like me should have it. Not empathetic, mind you, but yes, sympathetic.

Not saying they won't do it but in other games I've played, even other SOE titles, this hasn't been the case.

Yeah, except for the huge slap in the face to all the people that put the time in to earn the 8 year reward. You know, the ones that actually have an active account for 7 years AND bought each expansion at $40 to $70 a pop?

Not being able to get this ready and running they slapped together this worthless bundle of a reskinned mount, potions for EXP that are realy not needed with all the ones you already get along the way, a title and the item that allows you to res yourself and your group (as long as you are not dead).

With all the /Rage Quiters and all the SW:tOR vacancies, I'm sure you can get a Vet Account off of E-bay or Craigslist for quite a good price...

There is already a SC item on the Marketplace which will port you to a players iirc, you just can't pull someome to you. At least thats what it looks like it will do, with 5 charges, as I've never bothered buying one. Looks like a blue ball icon. IDK if it works better or worse than COV or if it will port you inside zones or only within zones, never bothered to check.

I don't have CoV and won't for a while.. and I think the idea is a horrible one. It's a Veteran (ie people who have put in the time and effort) reward, not an 'I want it now so I'm throwing money at it' reward.

Now that the 8th year vet reward is out, we can assume that they did not get it done before hand, but still "want" to get it done soon(tm) , but now and yet another year to sit on it.
