Drunder dropped armor... can you really get the same stuff as crafted?

<p>We have finally progressed to Drunder and have been having fun (mostly) throwing ourselves at Spire of Rage.  Various pieces of armor have dropped for us and we've been melting them into ore to make crafted stuff.</p><p>Then today I just remembered there were patch notes which mentioned various bosses can outright drop the stuff.  However, I am confused.  Do they drop exactly what you can craft, or do those notes mean they drop <span style="text-decoration: underline;">yet another</span> piece of armor that is somewhat different than the crafted set?  I haven't been here before the update so I am not sure if it went from 0 to the stuff I'm seeing now or from the stuff I'm seeing now to super secret "real" drunder armor drops.</p><p>We've only made it to Grolla twice (still working on surviving the 30% rage, lol) and have killed the first guy and Hammy a few times and gotten some armor.  None of that looks like the crafted stuff though because it lacks a focus.</p><p>I tried to do some research and for example the patch notes said Grolla can now drop shoulders.  However, <a href="http://eq2.zam.com/db/mob.html?eq2mob=179089512b79a2db1c555cc3810a8e30" target="_blank">Zam</a> only shows her dropping feet.  I'm so confused.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>Yes, the exact same pieces that can be crafted, can also be dropped by certain bosses.</p>

I don't think we've gotten an update since the shard armor changes.</p>

<p>I wonder why the devs didn't want the craftable drunder gear that drops off boss mobs to be mutable.  To encourage auctions?</p>

<p><cite>LokiHellsson wrote:</cite></p><blockquote><p>I wonder why the devs didn't want the craftable drunder gear that drops off boss mobs to be mutable.  To encourage auctions?</p></blockquote><p>Mutable into standard transmuting mats would be fine, it would only have been an issue if they muted into Ore.  becsaue it take (currently) 25 to 50 Ore to craft and muting would return 18?  but a diminishing return isn't a bad trade-off, IMO.  They should be treated as any other "drop" in the zone, but I'd wager its like it is now becasue when it was made the armor didd't actually "drop".</p><p>If you have a chance at an Infusion verses a guaranteed 18 Ore it would be a big difference.</p>
